New Key Fob/This one?

Hey for those that have changed out the key fob, something like this will work?

https://www.amazon.com/2001-Infiniti.../dp/B003RVX95W

I have just one original and it sucks, gotta mash the darn unlock button and the trunk button won't do anything. Thanks.

I'm not so sure about that one. That is a different shape than the 2000 i30 came with. The FCC ID # for 2000 Infiniti i30 key fob is KBRASTU10. If you look on the back of your key fob, you should see FCC ID # KBRASTU10. The amazon web page does not give the FCC ID, maybe you want to ask them to verify this.

As for your current key fob, try cleaning it. Open it up and take the printed circuit board out. Clean it by scrubbing it with a toothbrush and rubbing alcohol.

Bought mine on Ebay 2-3 years ago for like $25. Looked just like the original and worked great. Like Dennis says, use the part number.

I took it apart and cleaned it, but it didn't improve that well. Will buy new one.

I had a flaky trunk button. I bought a couple of fobs similar to the one above from ebay. I switched out the electronic part of the fob and upon reassembly the trunk button functioned normally
