Quick question:

How is it possible to have the AE lip kit, and... 'mudguards'?

I have a 2001 AE, and do not have those 'mudguards', nor have I seen them on any other 2001 AE.

They look like the 2002-2003 styling trim pieces, care to explain? I am curious.

 

Its because it is an AE not an SE. It is a limited edition 2001 Anniversary Edition Maxima The head lights, front and side lip, mud guards, perforated leather, door sills, 5 extra hp, spoiler, limited edition key, etc etc... are all included and part of my AE Max

 

Hah, I know what the AE includes. I have it all, also. The VSLD, the darker silver edition gauge faces, titanium (or in Nissan's terminology, "Bright Finish") rims, etc, etc, etc.


It's just that my AE never included the mudguards. Strange. I've searched around and I've seen AE's with and without the mudguards. As a matter of fact, the mudguards make the car look even better (IMO). Now the question is, are the mudguards on the AE, only AE specific...hmm...back to searching. I need to find a set.

Also, the Nissan stock photo of the AE doesn't picture the car with mudguards. WTH? Sorry to ***** up your thread, but I just found it strange.

No mudguards on my AE either. Can't view the link or pictures, but is this auto or manual? (facebook blocked at work).

 

His AE is a manual. At least that's what his FB pic showed. I owned a white auto AE and it came with the mudguards as well. Personally I think it looks better with them.

Ive actually owned 2 different 2001 AE Maximas in my day (i know funny right) and they both had mud guards...maybe they only come in white? Lucky me That just made my rare car even rare-er lol

Mudguards were made for the AE...if you want to buy them, you can only get them from the dealer at a very very very high price (IIRC like $200 a flap)
