FS: My black 92' VE 5spd :-(
FS: My black 92' VE 5spd :-(
Sup guys.. I've actually been deciding on what I was going to be doing with this car for the past few weeks, but I have decided to take the sad leap and sell it. I bought an 03' bimmer 2 years ago as a daily driver and the VE was suppose to be my weekend toy, but stuff never works out the way you want it to, so since then the VE has been driven only a few times a month. Let me try and summarize this cars history as briefly as I can.
I bought it in NJ as the second owner in August of 05' and it had about 137k. Looked like a super clean highway car. It's got about 162,5xx on it now, and the rust is getting pretty nasty in the usual spots but not so bad where you wanna junk it. Oil pan rusted pretty bad and started to slowly leak. The crank seal also seeps some oil out. One of the rear brake lines popped last month. The cars dying for some motor/tranny mounts, clutch, flywheel, and something is really wrong with the reverse gear. When you go in reverse it shakes kinda bad and if you go fast it stalls and the wheels lock up! Scary.. But slowly it will back up, no prob. What I did replace over the 4 years that I've owned it was a brand new Nissan Fuel Pump at 152k, brand new AZ starter at 147k, and brand new Nissan Alternator at around that mileage too. Front Brembo brakes with metal master pads at 145k, along with Gabriel front struts(I was on a budget lol), replaced one of the sway bar links, and a ball joint I believe on the drivers side. Napa stuff. Oh, also both axels from NAPA with Nissan axel seals at 145k. OE spark plugs, OE air filter, PCV valve, and 300zxTT fuel filter at 144k. Also a Nissan coil pack at 155k. One of the front brake calipers has a broken ABS sensor, forgot which side(drivers?), so it flashes the ABS warning light. My dad dropped the caliper when we had it out. It's currently using a GM battery as well, and it's not held down. Replaced all drive belts 5k miles ago. Both rear window regulators, one motor for them, and a passenger side regulator all replaced. A wiper linkage was replaced as well a few years ago. Sunroof looks like it's starting to drip on really rainy days. Maybe a clogged drainer or something. A replaced tie-rod on the passenger just popped into my memory as well. As for mods, all I have is a pretty nice Diamond audio system, and an AE shift ****. This engine is great though. I've been using the Toyota D3 v8 oil filter with castrol 10w30 for as long as I can remember, and the VTCs just tick quitely, and at 142k all cylinders had 180-185psi on each of them, even though the FSM says max is 173psi if I remember correctly. Just whooped my 330xi's rear end from 40-120mph by 2 car lengths on the belt last month and in that speed range the list never ends of me staying with cars or even pulling on them, from new to old, with a nice amount of power over me through out the years. Love this car. Wish I didn't have to sell it. The engine is so smooth and strong.. I also got some parts layin around that I never installed such as rear Brembo blanks with metal master pads, a ball joint, a crank seal, a brand new UDP pulley, belts for it(right ones I hope), a rebuilt left rear caliper for my old 93'GXE that I never put on, one fog light, and a rare 3rd gen grille.
I cared for this car as best I could trying not to abuse it or race it too much. I had big dreams for it. Clay barred, polished and waxed it on two occasions as well. Never been in any accidents under my supervision, and the car fax is clean. The interior as you can see, is 90% mint. Hoping it can go to an owner who would show it the same love and appreciation as I did, and maybe even post pics up of it once in awhile.
Im asking for $1100, if you, or anyone you know is lookin to nurse this baby back, or even more(like I originally intended), I'd appreciate it. Thanks.
PS: It actually passed inspection.... Legitimately too
PS2: BTW, I don't think I made this clear earlier, but the car should not be driven until the brake line is fixed. It has no more then 10% braking power at the moment, with the help of the Ebrake. A full cylinder pours right out after a few brake pumps. Just thought I'd clear that up.

I haven't seen a VE 5 sell on here in months. I've been keeping tabs a little bit on VE 5's being put up for sale just so I can get an idea about selling my 3rd VE here in the next couple months, and I don't believe one of them have sold or even had any interest at all. Kind of a shame

I would drop the price a few hundred but I dont think it's fair, since I have a practically brand new $600 audio system, just in parts, and the car looks decent inside and out minus the few dings, marks, and rust. Kinda hard to find one this clean being sold in my opinion... Some guy seems to want it, but just the motor in it.

Bump? I will drop the price a bit. Anybody? Unfortunatly this car is gonna end up going to donation if it doesn't sell on craigslist in the next week or two. Shame..
In that case, you know it's not being donated with the sound system. Bose HU going right back in, with no speakers in the doors.

If it's going to go to donation I'll take it without the sound system for short money. No way is it going to get crushed for chump change. My nitrous kit has had ZERO interest on here or locally, and if I could get that thing for $400 (Mind you it costs me A LOT to come down from Mass with my car trailer) I could have a fun little car..... and you could see pic's of it on here once I put the 3rd gen stillen body kit I have on it
LOL come on man.. Thanks for the offer, but last time I checked the engine alone cost that much on ebay. And I wouldn't part out the system unless it was going to be donated, cause Im gonna have as much luck selling that, as I am having selling this car. Everyone wants something for nothing these days. I rather junk it, then take $400 for such a clean car with a healthy engine and new parts and mods on the side.

Oh wow... I just realized you're selling your max. What a shame. You know you could get more money for that unreliable beamer instead
950 is a good price, you *******! you caught me off guard! bah! I want VE5 lol

btw... most donated cars go STRAIGHT to the JUNK YARD. I worked for LKQ (U Pull It) for a year and all these donated cars in excellent condition came in on a daily basis, sometimes we even found letters from the original owners wishing the future owners good luck with the car that was once their baby and owned since new. My coworked and I found a letter like that in an old 80s Celica where the old owner stated that the car never left him stranded and that it was taken very good care of. So much for that letter, the car went in the JY and straight to the crusher once it was stripped. Sad reality.
I tried selling the Bimmer a year ago, and it wasn't working out too well. It may seem like Im making more money on it, but Im actually losing way more on it for what it's worth. Nobody wants a high mileage BMW. Im pushing 133k! Plus after driving the BMW, it's kinda hard to go back to the VE. The drive is just way too refined to compare, and so much more luxury features. More presentable car too. You might be kinda right about the unreliable part, cause at this mileage, it's really starting to show it's age, but it hasn't left me stranded and they do put these cars together well.
You really want a VE5? 4th gen top end ain't meeting your needs?

That is some messed up sh*$! Hope my VE never ends up there

Im so losing out on this deal with my friend, and I doubt this car is going to any level other then the one it's been on all it's life
Shiet guys, you both got raped. Last time I went to the local dealer the alternator was $215
Edit: Never mind, just realized mine is a VG vs your VE.. I guess VE Alty's are way more expensive
