FS: 2001 Maxima SE 5-speed

After 13 dependable years, and many, many miles, we now need to let go of our family Maxima. Details are as follow...

• 2001 Maxima SE
• 5-speed
• Black
• Gray cloth interior
• Moonroof w/deflector
• Power driver's seat
• ABS
• No mods (except for an FSTB)
• Clean title
• 430,000+ miles

I'm the original owner. All those miles were primarily interstate miles. My wife commuted 70 miles one-way every day since we bought it new in 2001. It took a couple of long-distance trips, one to Florida and one to Colorado. Over the past three years, it has been our son's daily driver.

The car has never been in an accident. About four or five years ago, the driver's front quarter panel was dented by a bump-and-run while it was parked. Panel was replaced. There was no other damage.

Factory wheels are in great shape.

Both rear wheel arches were rusting-out. We had a local shop replace/repair w/new metal last year.

Power steering high-pressure hose was replaced last year. Entire steering rack was replaced about four years ago.

The engine is the original 3.0 and has never had to be opened. It got regular oil and filter changes every 6000-8000 miles. It still gets-up and goes great. The clutch, on the other hand, has had several services over the years. Probably needs looked at again, as it seems to be slipping and the pedal is soft.

The suspension is in need of repair. Even though it's still being driven, the rear end is clunking, and the front struts are in need of replacement, as well.

ABS has been out for about a year, now. I think it's probably a sensor.

The interior is looking pretty rough. Nothing's missing, broken or cracked. It's just all very worn, especially once our son inherited it. Kids

Car has had the infamous P0420 code since it was new. ECU was re-flashed several times, but it never made a difference. The code never affected performance, though. It Currently, just about all the warning lights are on, but it still runs fine.

I'm asking SOLD.

I'd like to get it gone by the end of the month. Failing that, it'll go to one of those "we buy all cars" guys or a scrapper.

Feel free to contact me with any questions you might have.

I'll post more pics as I can get them. Here's one taken earlier this year.

With that kind of mileage, it could be a blessing or a curse. However, if you managed to put 430k miles on the original motor, you must have been doing something right.

Regular oil changes every 6000-8000 miles.

I've followed that one simple routine with all my cars and none of them have ever had any serious mechanical issues in the engine. Always use a good filter and the factory-spec weight oil, preferably synthetic or a blend.
