FS: 2003 Nissan Maxima SE 6 Speed Manual Titanium Edition 157k

After 15 years of enjoying this car, I have decided to sell my 2003 Maxima SE 6MT. I’ve done virtually all the maintenance on this car, it has been a great car and I’ll be sad when it sells. It has every available option sold in 2003 including a heated steering wheel (definitely one thing I will miss the most!!) and a limited-slip differential! I looked for this car for over 2 years before purchasing it and it was in pristine shape. It was previously owned by a Nissan mechanic and it came with a bunch of spare Nissan parts, some of which I have used over the years and what remains will be passed on to the new owner. I'd like it to go to an org member if possible to enjoy and continue the tradition of sharing/moding/enjoying tinkering with these cars.

I am very particular about my cars and it is in excellent condition for a 19 year old car. Silver exterior w/very clean black leather interior, no accidents, non-smoker, adult driven, daily driver, meticulously maintained w/all records documented in a spreadsheet since I purchased it at 33k in Aug’06, never raced/tracked, original clutch, cold a/c, great Bose stereo, garaged, mostly original with minimal mods (listed below), Mobil 1 10w-30 synthetic oil and new filter every 5k miles, summer 18” wheels/tires from 350Z with 50% tread (pictured) and includes winter 17” original titanium edition alloy wheels/tires with 30% tread. Driven in North Carolina for the last 15 years (Virginia with the 1st owner) so it is clean with no rust.

Options include Meridian edition (heated front seats, steering wheel and exterior mirrors), Titanium Edition (200-watt Bose audio system with 6-disc CD changer, front seat side-impact air bags, in-mirror compass, floor mats and stainless steel sill plates with Maxima logo, titanium-tint interior accents on the center console, stitching on the steering wheel and shifter, and titanium finish alloy wheels), Leather package (leather seats, 4-way power passenger and driver seat w/memory function, adjustable lumbar support), glass sunroof w/tilt, helical limited-slip differential with drilled metal accelerator/brake/clutch pedals and navigation.

Minimal modifications include:

Bluetooth stereo (through AUX hardwire) auto-connects to iPhone for calls/navigation through stereo, Otto strut tower brace, Progress rear sway bar, Eibach springs (~1” drop), 30% tint on side/rear windows, white corner lights, hardwired iPhone charger cord and magnetic phone mount. Recent work includes 4 struts replaced Nov’19, RF outer tie rod end & 4 wheel alignment Nov’19, airbag replacement (recall) Mar’21, alternator & both belts replaced Apr’21; new brake & clutch fluid Apr’21, oil cooler o-ring Jun’21, a/c compressor clutch Nov’21, new front rotors and Hawk 5.0 HP pads Jan’22

Everything works except the sunroof (motor is bad/acts erratic and would open randomly so I disconnected power; new OEM switch didn’t solve it so it is the motor) and typical VQ35DE oil consumption, which it has had since I bought it in 2006. It doesn’t smoke or impact drivability. I just check the oil and top it up every so often and have been doing this since I bought it at 33k. Sale includes both sets of wheels/tires and a bunch of spare parts.

2 keys with fobs and clean title in hand asking $5,400. I’m not in a rush to sell so no lowball offers please. Located in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Having problems posting photos...will post them soon

Our cars must have been separated at birth. Mine also originated in VA and I purchased it from the original owner at 29k.

In my biased opinion, and considering the current chip/vehicle shortage, this car is worth more than what you are asking. It's rare to find a 2003 in really nice condition with an owner that actually knows cars and how to take care of them. Stay patient and good luck.

CRBWS6 LOL, our cars had very similar histories and you have kept/upgraded yours very nice/tastefully. Yep, as far as the price, I considered pricing higher but there is not really much to compare to (except the low mileage '02 beauty on the org @ $7,500) so I picked what I thought was a reasonable price given the mileage/situation. I've definitely had interest already and like I said, I'm not in a rush so we'll see what happens. Honestly, I love the car and am torn about selling it but this is just another (15 year long!) chapter in the book. And there are many more chapters in this book to come...

Unfortunately, the market's desire for this car has almost run out. No matter how you spin it, the car is still almost 20 years old. And today's generation of new drivers generally don't want a stick either. If the used car market wasn't hot right now, this car, as good as shape as it's in for it's age, would pull in even less.

If I didn't have to ship this car to CA, I'd make a solid offer. I'm sure it will sell to the right person, and be appreciated, in no time.

On a side note, you should polish the headlights, cheap and easy. Will help attract buyers. Same for the shift ****, looks a bit rough/worn (maybe it's just a bad picture).

The Wizard: I agree, the market is kind of dying out as most of today's generation don't want a stick. But there are still some enthusiasts out there that want a stick...and I'm not in a rush.

Anyway, thanks for the comments. I've polished the headlights and reposted the photo of the front end...had been meaning to do that but it's been cold/rainy here. I also added a pic of the engine bay too. And I agree, the shift **** doesn't look great in that photo but it's just a bad glare from the sun coming through the windshield. In reality, it looks good.

Cheers!
