Ya, but would they be willing to help out.....you should go ahead and give them a call for Matt since he is so busy and see if they would be interested.

I am currently trying to find a way to get ahold of someone at the Nissan Regional Headquarters in Irving to see if this event might interest them. They have a HUGE lot that would be perfect for what we are looking for and they are located right along I635.

Count me in on this, wherever it is in TX- I can bring some freebies, but I doubt I can offer our dealership as a potential location. Our front lot only holds 42 cars or so- the new car inventory is kept in a parking garage in back. Austin would be a central location, tho!

Mapquest says 970 miles. Not sure how much time though. I'm going to stop around Springfield MO. Wednesday night and get to Dallas Thurs. Others in the caravan will drive straight through.

that sounds about 14 hours drive; another 4 to drive to chicago. Seriously doubt I can drive 18 hours straight. Time to start looking for other drivers.

St Louis to springfield, MO is about 3 hours. it's 2.5-3 hours from Springfield to Tulsa, OK. it's 3.5-4 hours from Tulsa to Dallas, and DO NOT SPEED BETWEEN TULSA AND DALLAS!! The southern half of Oklahoma is speed trap city. I've given those bastards close to $1000 in the last 10 years..

I'm not too familiar with going down I-57 like Mapquest shows to go from Chicago to Dallas.. maybe someone that lives in Little Rock area could elaborate.

For all you guys in Texas traveling up I35 go to the regional forum and go to the Texas/Midwest Forum and find the Maxus 2005 thread. We are all caravaning up Friday morning and picking people up along I35. Me and Royal_T are starting things off in San Antonio unless there is anyone coming from Laredo or Del Rio.

Matt a big Thanks from the org here in San Antonio. This is gotta be a ton of work to do so if there's anything we can do down here let us know. Maxus '05 is gonna be off the chain in Dallas or Houston.

Maxout160 may be heading up from Laredo.

St Louis going the 57 route isn't too bad...St Louis folk will need to take i55 down to Memphis and then shoot across Arkansas to Little Rock on i40. Once in Little Rock take 440south until it turns into i30. Take i30 all the way to Dallas. Once in Dallas you'll need 635n to 75n, depending on where you're staying.

PM me if you need closer directions. I took a trip to Terre Haute 2 wks ago so that route is pretty fresh in my mind right now.

Jeff, how long did it take you to get there?
going the I-75 to I-69/I-44/I-70 route up there took me 12.5 hours from dallas, and that was going the speed limit the whole time.

Well we went from Dallas to Terre Haute in 12 hrs almost exactly. Terre Haute is about 200 miles from the i57/i55 intersection in Missouri.

I drove pretty much the speed limit...about 5-10 over most of the time.

I would guess about 10 hrs from SE Missouri to Dallas going the Memphis route.

Eek. Go through Tulsa as I said before.. it's 9-10 hours from Tulsa, and 600 miles on the nose. I've done it in 6:15 before, but before you do the math, include a 15 min stop in St Louis for a burger and tank of gas.

If anyone does end up taking the 44 route going west to Tulsa then they should exit Vinita (69s). 69south turns into 75 after McAlester and you shave about 30 minutes to an hour, doing the speed limit.

I usually go the 75/69/44/71 route when I go to Kansas City. Much faster than going on i35 the whole way.

...I also 2nd the keep it at the speed limit when going through lower Oklahoma. Knock on wood I've never had a problem but I've seen them pull over many.
One thing for everyone to remember going this route is that you go through a number of small towns and each one has its own lower speed limit, so watch it.

All of Soutern Oklahoma is bad as far as speed traps, but most notable is Noble county, I used to drive from Dallas to Lawerence, Kansas to see my wife at school and I "helped fund" Noble county, OK one more than one occasion. What can I say I am a giving person, with a lead foot.

Kiowa, Atoka, Stringtown, Durant are the worst four towns, (i.e. all the ones I've donated to).. but there are several other towns in that area to watch out for. just don't to anything out of the ordinary- like be a black male driving a nice car going 1 over the limit- and you'll be fine.

...Matt came to Dallas over the weekend and we had a meeting with Trophy. James from Trophy will be getting back to us today or tomorrow letting us know the location he is proposing is available. Most likely we will get notification tomorrow.

Once the location is sorted out then the other things will get scheduled pretty quickly.

That was my version of a shameless plug. The locals will all confirm that I am doing everything short of twisting their arms to go.

The way I remember it, you were begging to get away from that crazy old lady, and did everything you could to FUBAR your car so you had an excuse not to take her home.
