I like the look. Did you paint the stock wheels?

The calipers are painted with the spray can type and the wheels are a gunmetal finish

Forgive me cuz Im from Cali, but why put stock rims back on for winter? I grew up back east, but moved here when I was only 10. Is it for snow tires?

They are only painted, i was in the process of having them powdercoated, but the wait was to long and i needed them on asap. Bascially I just spray painted them with about 6 coats and about 4 coats clear.

This method will chip because the original paint is still intact and since I didn't sand them down, the paint won't adhere properly, but its for the winter so I'm not to worried. I had them done last year but I wasn't feeling the shinly blackish color they were. The gunmetal actually shows that the spokes have edges.

I change the wheels for the winter because it gets pretty harsh around here and the 20's with summer tires just don't get any traction.

For winter rims, I think they look great. They'll blend right in with the dirt as well. At least you're not going back to hubs, like I am

Larger size rims are poor for traction. Harsh conditions such as low temperatures and road salt can damage them too. It's also cheaper to buy smaller sized winter tires and if you keep them mounted on a separate set of rims, you save money and work as opposed to switching tires on the same set.

I love how you've painted those rims gunmetal...very nice!
