OVERLAY or NO OVERLAY...opinions please

I think these two benzes are pretty hot with the middle section of their lower front bumper painted in black...I am wondering if this kind of look could work on my front bumper.

I have outlined the area that would be covered by a black overlay: (I hope you can see the outline my photo editor is pretty ****ty)

Here is a pic of my ride as it is right now without the crappy outlines (for reference)

So what do you guys think? Go ahead with the overlay as I have it outlined in the two pics, or scrap the idea? If you were going to implement the black overlay idea on my ride, would you do it differently?

Thanks for looking guys!

I say do it and do the roof while your at it. As another possibility do the upper grille lip too.

Paint the Grille Mesh Black too.

There is a guy on here with a yellow Max that has that lower section, the grille, and, IIRC, the middle of the hood painted black. I think it looks quite good.

the bumper design you hhave does not have the lines for it. it will just look like a poor attemp at looking like something else.

I dont think you have the bumper for it. Some bumpers can pull it off, some cant. Instead of the paint, I'd suggest a different choice in wheels first. They are nice, but I dont think they flow whell with the theam you have going with the rest of the car and the fitment can be much better. That will make more of a positive impact on the way your car looks than a new paint scheme. (which is now starting to become bandwagon in my eyes)

Keep up the good work though. Car looks nice.

regarding the lines on the bumper...I get what you are saying and I am afraid the overlay wont flow too well especially at the edges.

regarding the wheels...I had played with the idea of selling my 18s and going to staggered 19s for this season because I am kind of sick of my current wheels and I know the fitment is not that great... but I am 95% sure I am getting a used G37S or SC430 in 2010 and Im going to need the cash... so in all honestly I couldnt justify spending the $1500+ on a set of nice staggered wheels even when my max needs them

Dont do it, I'd say maaaybe you could pull it off with a stillen lip and stock bumper. But the bottom of your bumper doesnt have the lines at all to make it work.
