I understand that with a auto you lose some hp because of the tq converter, and I understand that the 3.5 has about 30 more hp.

But its hard for me to believe that basically my same car with 30 more hp and a manual is a WHOLE 2 seconds faster in the 1/4 mile.

30 hp does not make the difference between a 14 sec car and a 16 sec car so there must've been some other variable which allowed the car to be so quick..
U ran on a slow track, thats one variable, another is what condition is ur car in, Ur tires? and then there is ur driving, what does ur 60' look like? 30hp is alot also when talking about cars that can barely top 200whp.

Another question have u driven a MT car before? Especially with cars with low HP&TQ numbers like ours it makes alot of sense why the MT is so much quicker. i have both an MT and AT 4th gen and stock for stock the MT is a lot quicker than the AT, cars that the AT would struggle with the MT just walks by them.

Like i said before just because you cannot do it doesnt mean that others cant and they are lying about there times.

Thats not a GTP its a GXP, they came with an LS4 V8. And yes they do move out. I'd roll one.

We go by the best time on the best track, why use the slow time?

If u checked the thread that was posted about u would have found this vid of a stock 5.5 gen:

5/6 speed auto > 4 speed auto (not by much) > 7/8 speed auto

If you have read some reviews on the ISf that Lexus has, the biggest complaint is actually that the car has too many gears...its constantly changing and its annoying

i was just getting on bigles, the 7 speeds on the M5s i have heard arent bad, what they should do for the lexus is reserve the final 2 gears for cruise control and MT mode, 6spd autos really arent bad at all.

i cant remember what rental car i had that was a A6, but it was annoying as hell!
i think the engine should do all the work and the transmission should stay out of the way

I can't believe we'er comparing a FI car to a NA car mod for mod. *exits thread*
sorry, a little late on this one... OK yea that spray may get you there...but what if he does the same thing? The point is, the blown 3.8 has soooooo much more potential than a N/A 3.5 max. But it's similar to what all of us LS1 guys say... it's kinda sad that ford had to throw on a blower on top of the 4.6 to beat us .

We may kinda be comparing apples to oranges here.

Nice pick up.

Your going to get biased opinions on a maxima forum no doubt about it.

I would have to agree though with very little money you can make that thing stupid fast. IE smaller pulley.

But just to add to crushers comments

IBmy4.5gencanwalkonagtpandhasbefore.........

But in all seriousness congrats and let the modding begin

I would love to mod this car...and if I was gonna have it the next 4 years...you can expect somethings to happen...but I want to wait and see where I'm gonna end up.

I'm going to push to get out of the country so I can see the world
