finally, let me introduce myself

im 19, from Canada.
I just recently purchased my first maxima(6th) after selling my lowrider.

here she is, i got biggg, i mean big plans for her,
so far i have in my house is 22 inch rims, double din dvd/NAV touch screen, 15 inch RE audio sub/amp. brand new front grill, not he billet, i wanted to be different. next on my list is buy a 6000k hid kit, and a lowering kit aswell,
My rims are +40 offset, so i shouldnt have a problem with lowering it right?

here she is.

yea I think you will rub in the back...which would be pretty bad since you are riding on rubber bands there with those 30 series tires....I would say look into gettting coilovers because with a wheel set-up like that you want the car to sit properly...not to mention look proper....best of luck with the modding & congrats on the new ride

im very new to imports, and same with lowering them. coil overs are just the which brand would you rec? and what would be a nice stance? i was thinking 2.5 in the front and 2 inches in the rear.

You are looking at between 800-1000 for coilovers...D2, KSport, and Tein all make coilovers for the 04-06 maxima...I dont have any experience with 6th gen maxima coilvers so I dont want to steer you in the wrong direction.

I know for 5th gen maximas the Ksport coilover system generally gets very good reviews.

The advantage of coilovers is that they are completely adjustable in terms of ride height, and many of them are also adjustable when it comes to stiffness.

IMO you wont really know how the springs are going to work with the wheels until you get it all on the car...if you find out you are rubbing a lot then you just wasted the price of the springs + the install...or worse yet you may find out you are rubbing by losing a tire (those 30s dont take rubbing too well) and damaging your rim at the same time.

I know there are other guys who are running 22s on their 6th gen maximas maybe do a search to see what they are dropped on and see if they have any issues.

Noting that you came from a lowrider...and you probably want to slam this maxima, I think coilovers are your best bet

Car looks real nice, not feeling those rims on her though (which you will hear A LOT of on this forum). Most people here hate chrome, I just think they are too big. What are some of the big plans you have for it? Looking at some performance mods? Nice ride, just try to keep it clean and enjoy this forum, it is a life saver!

im the type to encourage ppl on whatever they like and i say do it cause you like it... however i was always a fan of slightly bigger wheels on the 6th gen, 22's maybe a little bit too much IMO... a 6th gen dumped on 20's is the best look IMO but do what you like bro... i guess this is some kinda show car build... suttn to stunt in???

thanks guys for understanding, this is my ride and i want to do something different than staggers. plus i think it will look REAL nice once im done everything. I have intentions of doing everything clean and right the first time, no shortcuts or cutting corners.
I think everybody is used to people who kill it with 22s but my plan is to take a different route, going for a 'slam' look esp on 22s. i think it will turn out nicely.

I will keep you guys updated on mods, soon as i get closer to summer, im just piling everything up.

Hey if you can tuck those things in, and don't add buick side air holes, I think it'll be alright.

Hey bro... I commend you on doing what you like to do for YOUR maxima for YOUR enjoyment, now with the face wheels. not the best choice but 22s are ok. good choice in sound..

Well at least it's lowered. I guess it's not a complete fail like all the other Maximas with the big *** ugly chrome rims on them that are on monster truck status with the stock suspension. 22's are still on anything other than a truck in my opinion.
