ROLL CALL- Baddest Maximas on this site
I suppose this might be a dumb question, but what's with the X's on the headlights? I see this on older cars like yours ALL the time, especially older BMWs, and I don't understand it. Anyone care to chime in and provide some insight on this?
That's a sweet looking car though. I agree with the need for deep dishes, would look sick for sure.

I guess that makes sense about the track throwback thing. It reminds me of the original Herbie movie with all the cars having it on their headlights now that I think about it.
I'm going to look into this more though. I'm intrigued now.
I am not going to tell you all to search to find the answer... because in that time I take to type "GO GOOGLE DAMN IT" I can type up your answer.
"I'm told it is a cross between Greek Mythology and ancient Egyptian Heiroglifics. Many racers follow a superstition that the The god of tape will make them faster if they use secret Egyptian symbols on their headlights.
But I say, it's probably so if a stone flys into the light and shatters it, all of the glass doesn't go all over the track and give everyone flat tires."
Also I read that it was a style of some 1950's race car thing.

this is a great start for doing bosozoku style on it. not necessarily the full style but like an inspiration from that style. an oil cooler mounted on the front bumper and maybe a bit lower (which i honestly think the height it is at now is perfect) would look pretty damn good IMO. the way the car is now looks really good as well...
