New Ride
Haven't been on here in a long time (the 3rd gen hasn't given me any issues, lol) but this has always been a cool community so I just wanted to share this with you guys.
I had been looking to get myself into something manual (my dad did not want to go through the hassle of swapping in a 5 spd ) and something I can use for Auto X. I have always been in love with S13's since I was in highschool, so I went on the hunt for one. Wasn't easy, considering how much the F&F tax affected them. Any decent looking S13 went for WAY more than they were worth, and with a budget of $2500, it wasn't easy.
I found an ad for a 1992 240sx listed at $2000. From the pictures, it looked pretty nice (craigslist pictures are deceptive). In the ad, the car was listed with a Koyo radiator (free upgrade!), black leather interior (with Integra seats, meh for Honda, but they're nicer than stock) and of course, manual. Drove about 40 minutes to take a look at it. First thing me and my dad notice, the big *** dent on the rear quarter panel. S***! The initial walk around made me a bit nervous about putting money down on this car. The body definitely needed work, but I wasn't too worried since my cousin recently opened up a body shop. When the owner came out, he handed us the key to check the car out. Car started without any issues. Car drove without any major issues. Because of the condition of the car, and some minor issues (no a/c, had a used motor that replaced the original, missing some interior pieces, ect) we managed to talk the guy down to $1575. Car drove home without a problem.
Currently, the car is in my cousin's body shop getting repaired. So without further adieu, some lousy pictures.
When I brought her home.
Interior Shot.
I had remembered about an old thread in the 3rd gen forums about shift **** replacements. So I went ahead and ordered the Galant VR4 shift ****. Fits and feels great!
After finally getting the rest of the interior pieces. (Damn shift boot console is EXPENSIVE!)
And after installing an intake (the previous owner ghettofied the HELL out of the stock intake. 3 vacuum lines were plugged up with screws )

Went and visited my cousin's shop to install some goodies: nismo clutch slave cylinder (previous owner says he upgraded the clutch to stage 4, noooo idea what brand it is, but it's quite a workout), and some Redline MT-90. Turns out I couldn't work on my car at all. She was a bit preoccupied.
New color is Silver Moss Metallic. Loved the way they looked on the 97-98 240's, but I think it'll look just fine on an S13. Can't wait till I get some good outside photos.
Where the nasty dent was. The body guy my cousin hired is freaking AMAZING!!
Big props and big love to Autohaus South!! Autohaus South
Some other neat stuff about the car. This came with the Super HICAS system, or the all wheel steering. Should help out nicely for the auto-x. Plus, all HICAS equipped 240's came with the VLSD! Score!!

The guy was pretty reasonable. He wanted to get rid of it and get himself a bike, but if it hadn't sold, he was going to swap in an RB25. Funny thing is, most of the issues with the car that lowered the price were easily fixed. The a/c had no freon in the system, which just ended up being a leaky valve. We converted it to R134A, and voila, car had a/c. Another issues with the car was the way the electric fans were wired. Fixed the wiring with a kit I bought on Amazon, so now the fans aren't running all the time nor draining power from the fuel pump (fans were hooked up to the fuel pump fuse. Oh the ghettoness).

Plans are just to get it up to where it will be a fun auto-x machine. Just going to work on suspension for now (coilovers, maybe a 5 lug conversion and 300zx BBK up front). Not going to go for any power until much later. Not planning on any swaps; will probably just turbo the KA. The plan is to take it out and build it up so it won't blow up on me . I'm not looking for that much power though, probably just 200-250 WHP.

Looks good can't wait to see some more pics. My friend just recently got rid of one. After driving it I started to like them alot more. His had eibach sportlines and they really made the car handle great.

That's right, it was you who posted up the shift **** James! When I drove it home, first thing that irritated me was the shift ****, so I had to go digging on the org for the part #. Nice guy, I found the color from a paint thread that's on zilvia.net, there is an S13 with the same paint, only his car looks way nicer than mine, lol. I've lurked around ka-t, but am not a member. Getting this car on the road is priority #1, but turbo is going to be inevitable. I'm not used to having a car that has so much after market support (coming from a 3rd gen) so my money is definitely being spent. No new pictures yet, car probably won't be done until the beginning of January. I did, however, got my Nismo slave cylinder installed and changed out the transmission fluid. Pure black filth came out, and now she's got Redline MT-90, so now she'll shift nice and smooth.

Back from the shop and washed up. Got to take it back though, needs some color sanding because there are some minor imperfections in the clear coat.
Moar crappy cell phone pics.
Now that I've got it back, I need to sort out some electrical issues with the car. The fuel pump primes on it's own when the car is off, so I've got to figure out what hacked up wiring job is causing it. I guess normally it wouldn't be an issue, but leaving the car alone for a day causes the motor to be so flooded with fuel, it takes forever to start. Plus, one of my injectors is leaking, probably a bad o-ring, so I get a nice puddle of gas on the floor. Never a good thing.

Color actually changed. It's too hard to notice the difference with a cell phone camera; I need to bust out the Rebel. It's now Silver Moss Metallic, old color was Sandstone Beige Metallic.

Pretty much. Planning on picking up some xxr 501's; black with a machine polished lip. Can't really use any wild colors cause it'll clash with the green, but I want a clean subtle look anyways. Not much for grabbing attention.
