Agreed. 5mm is near worthless, IMO.
I'm thinking I need 10mm or 15mm, but gotta do some exact measurements to be sure.
5mm=0.2"
10mm=0.4"
15mm=0.6"
20mm=0.8"
25mm=1"

Whatchu talking about? Didn't know you had anything. Figured it all went with the sale of your car. If mint, let's talk.

5mm is on the safe side. 10mm might rub with driver in rear. 15 you're nutz. thought this is a DD

I just did some calculation based on my old setup. IIRC these g35's are 18x8 +30 right? with a 15mm spacer your rear rim would sit a mere 5mm closer to the shock than this picture.
considering those squared out sidewalls, you will shred the heck out of them. I will stick with 5mm if you want to have passengers in the rear. even 10mm is pushing it. the setup you see above is a 10" +35 on 235/40...... I know your math is solid so punch in those numbers

Very nice work with the car. 9 kgs in the rear? Is that their factory spring rate or did you special order that? It's rare to find a set of coils with higher rates in the rear.

I was just thinking the same. 9kgs is very high for the rear. If 8kgs are up front, the rear should be 7kgs or less.

not sure if it helps, but you know ive got the g35 19x8.5's all the way around. rear tires are 235/35/19 conti extreme contact dws with 8mm spacers... just another look. im a little closer in width than QT1. plus i had to chime in with some more Sterling goodness!
oh, and considering im tucken a little tire and have only managed to rub off the lettering on both sides, you could prolly go with 15 and not scrape... what setting you on? im rockin 7 front and back to keep me from rubbing.

I pulled that info from the website. I thought it was odd too. I did not special order. See link:

Probably gonna drop it more tonight since I have to do a rear brake job.

Been swamped with work and other crap. Gotta find some time to make some real progress/get spacers etc.
Sterling Mist crew in da house! LOL

I'm curious about the spring rates you have for the coilovers. Is 8k front 9k rear correct? How does it ride compared to your other car? Do you think having 9k in the rear is too stiff or unstable for daily driving?

Unfortunately, no updates. Between life and work, things have been busier than ever lately.
Thanks Leo. Nice choice of words. LOL
I've been meaning to call JIC to verify, but I haven't.
The JIC's are more firm/stiff than the Progress coilovers, that's for sure. I do have them on full stiff though. I plan on putting them on full soft very soon so I can see the difference in ride quality and how they compare to the Progress coilovers. Ultimately, I think I'm going to switch the coilovers from my Maximas. The Progress coilovers are definitely more like "daily driver" coilovers in my opinion.

Question for you in regards to the front fenders and the fender liners. You rolled the front fenders all the way to the point where the lip is folded in and then you cut the liners in the location where they were secured to the fender? How are they being held there now?

The fender liners will float in place. All the inside mounting hardware is enough to keep it pretty stable. Plus you can kinda tuck it behind the folded lip. Or at least that's what I did. BUT!!! At one point I hit a huge pothole and my tire went far enough up into the fender to dislodge the liner and then just tore holes in it... I ended up having to pull over and cut it out.

Well, I bent the lip in flat using the fender roller. That was my primary goal. So much force was necessary to roll the fenders that I wouldn't be surprised if I rolled the fenders out 2 or 3 mm's w/o even trying.

If you haven't already you should get some 2005 murano center caps... they fit perfect as you can see in my sig Wiz... also I have 15mm in the rear and 5mm in the front on 235/40 all around
