max139617 - that's true. Still can't believe how Nissan could possibly look at the stock 4th gen wheelgap and go "yep, build it"

Well it certainly doesn't look good but stock suspension does a great job. I miss being able to fly over speed bumps , cracks , etc without thinking twice about my cross member/oil pan

Thankfully I'm leaving the city soon and the roads where I'm moving are silky smooth

BUMPITY BUMP

So not too mouch happening in the world of Luna...but I did go to the junkyard a couple weeks back and got myself the rails for a power driver's seat. Hooked it up (since all 4th gens came pre-wired) and nothing

But after some research here, I found I needed one more thing: the circuit breaker that provides the missing link. So back to the junkyard I go yesterday, and got me one! Plugged it in, as well as teh tracks for the seat, and BOOM I've got powaa!!!

BUt of course, one thing has to go wrong...over the last week or so I notice teh range of my keyless entry system going shorter and shorter until the damn thing doesn't even work from 5 feet away. So I hop on eBay and get myself a like-new condition OEM key fob, that should do the trick

Still haven't installed the roof spoiler...I decided to polish/buff/wax it prior to installation, which looks like it won't be for several more months...

so...thinking of getting some new headlights...or more accurately, getting a projector retrofit done. Just not sure if I wanna go R32/R34 with projector or just go projector on my current lights...

A:

or B:

I want better light output, so I'm leaning A since the pattern of light in the R34s are absolute shiit.

Prefrence really. the beam pattern of the r34's doesn't really matter once retroed.

I had the option of doing either, and chose to retrofit new Oem style.
Cheaper and no fit issues.
Retrofitting gets expensive enough as is IMO.

yeah that's a good point.

I like OEM fitment, so doubt teh R34s will provide that...oh well. got awhile before I make that decision anyhow

yeah, very true. That's how I'm leaning currently, anyhow I'll probably get a spare set of new 97-99 style lights and use those, so Luna won't be down any time.

Been a while since I've posted up on here but having had both a retrofit in the stock housings and the R34s, I can say that I enjoyed the R34s a LOT more. Output will not matter which housings you use, it all determines on the projector you choose to use. Here's 2 pics for reference. I think that at least with black car, the 1 piece R34s looked a little newer and more refreshed when compared to the OEM housings, without adding unnecessary attention.

did you do TWO in the stock housings? dayumm

I agree that from your pics, basing on visual aesthetics only, the R34s looked better in your case. Did you have any fitment isues with the R34s?

The inner lamp was actually a halogen H11 bulb in a "projector-like" housing. Since they were single xenon projectors, the H11 acted as the high beams - since the original 9004's are dual filament. Unless you are planning on not having high beams, you'd have to use a bi-xenon projector and wire it all together, which is another benefit of the R34s, as they have a designated space for a high beam which is plug and play with the harness provided.

The R34s fit pretty well for the money, I really couldn't expect much better. They actually fit better without the brackets for the corner lamp. Like I said before, I am a little biased, but after having both I'd definitely go the R34 route.

I see.

I want the high beam so I'll be doing the bi-zenon if I stick with OEM housing. ut those R34sd sure do look sexy...maybe it's because of the matching color to the car's body?

Welp, got my seat transferred over and now I've got a powered driver's seat! I did find out that I need a new bottom seat cushion though...I have both of the mounts on the left gone. Which explains why when I adjusted the seat up, only one side adjusts

Had that issue since I bought the car, now I know what it is so I can just swap seat bottoms next time I hit the JY.

Also, bought me some old headlights and projector shrouds, gonna maybe practice with the baking open of the headlights to see if i can maybe do my retro DIY And gonna practice my rattlecan magic on the shrouds

pre-heat oven to 225,in for 10-15 minutes, lightly take off clips and pry open. don't force unless you want to have light shining through little chips ( like me )

Projectors have arrived! I decided on Lexus RX350 Bi-Xenons. And I'm sticking with OEM housings.

Pics of the projector output with the clear lens upgrade installed:

Projector 1:

closeup of the cutoff line...that color band

Color band close-up again

So now, all I have to do is replace the headlights, use the ones currently on the car for the retro, paint the lights AE style with BT4 to match the body paint, paint one set of each shroud BT4 as well, get everything hooked up and projectors aimed, then seal it all up.

Should be done by July.

Need a replacement bulb for the dashboard of 1999 Maxima SE

I can't see the fuel gauge at night now that the light has blown out on my 1999 Maxima SE. What type of bulb is needed for replacement? I went to Autozone and they couldn't help me. Do I need to contact the Nissan dealer?

He has a kit that you can use to swap to leds. Did you want to purchase one or just needed information?
Should be a T5 bulb on a 99.
