Amerikaner83's new ride (w/ cheese and large fries)..)
^ this.
some noobs...
Its for sure in the 4th gen faqs but I think the 97-99 GLE got the sawblades of the 95-96 SE.
I LOVE the 97-99SE wheels, but I'm planning on dropping mine for the 6 spoke OEM g35 or 2k2 SE 6 spoke OEM maxima wheels when it comes time for new tires...in a year or two or three

Seems ironic though..
You doing a 3.5 swap and going manual next?
Although, the concept of a manual DOES appeal to me for the sheer fact that my wife can't drive one.
But in an emergency if she needs my car, she needs to know how to drive a stick. And no way in HELL am I teaching her. She refuses to be taught by either me or her dad

Took advantage of some weekend sunshine and broke out the rattlecans:
coil pack cover, completely freshened with silver metallic (will get BT4 on the big letters and in the area around the small ones):

Spare OEM grille, plastidipped (will paint it SE body color in the proper places later):
Metallic silver painted mesh, for the grille and other front openings:

And the coup de grace... BT4 painted fiberglass ionic roof spoiler, with 5 coats of paint and (and at this point just 2 coats of clear but will get 2 more coats):

So yes, a roof spoiler seems about right in that context.

Let's see after it's installed.
As you've done here, coup de grâce is often used to mean "final stroke", which is an interpretation derived from its original intent... that being, a death blow to a mortally wounded opponent.

I used it in the context of "and finally" as in competion of the stuff I did, not a death blow.
You are a staunch anti-roof spoiler proponent...why? Granted, I've seen some that are absolutely hideous...most of them being non-color matched to the car. Roof spoiler with sunroof spoiler also = fail in my book. But this BT4 colormatched roof spoiler will not make you go
. Even if it does...well, good thing it's my car
Notice, however, that I refrained from the term "engine cover" when talking about my engine cover

And I'm not a 100% hater, because I think the Stillen roof-wing looks perfectly OEM on the 7th Gen Maxima. But I don't think it looks right on the 5th Gen, and even less so on the old 4th Gen. Sorry, boss.
I went and looked up "Coup de grâce" this morning, to confirm what I wrote yesterday. It seems the literal translation is "mercy blow". Which, for us married guys, is something that happens once a year. Typically on our birthday.

You sir, are at the top of your game this morning

I asked my boss (who is French) what the differences are he agrees with you. Coup de grâce would be the wrong term for the intent I had, piece de resistance would be the correct one.
Pièce de résistance (French pronunciation: [pjɛs də ʁezistɑ̃s]) is a French term (circa 1839), also called "plat de résistance" in France, translated into English literally as "piece of (or for) resistance," referring to the best part or feature of something (as in a meal), a showpiece, or highlight. It can be thought of as the portion of a creation which defies (i.e. "resists") orthodox or common conventions and practices, thereby making the whole of the creation unique and special. The phrase gives the sense that the referred-to element is the most outstanding, notable, or defining of the collection

Quite coincidentally, there's one of these roof spoiler threads going on right now on myG37, and I find myself in the same familiar camp. IDK, Amerikaner. It seems (to me) that most cars with an aftermarket roof spoiler look downright ridiculous. The lines look forced, awkward, and often times just plain wrong. Car color has a lot to do with it, and in your defense I think darker colored cars can pull it off better than otherwise.

I too think that darker colored cars can pull the look off properly, better than lighter colored cars. Also, if one has a sunroof, the sunroof deflector must be gone. This just looks weird and wrong to me:
Whereas this looks better to me :

Sunroof deflector has to be removed imo for the roof spoiler to work.
Likewise, roof spoiler alone is also a
imo:But like I said...color-matched to a dark car with a stock trunk spoiler would be

but we'll see when I get mine on

^^ I think my car was purchased with the sunroof wind deflector.
I leave it on to
all the friction scratches it has caused over the years.
When I get mine painted deep evergreen again; that deflector is staying off.
I do like the look of the rear window deflector painted to match. Almost seamless if done right.

Haha thanks guys
Mista...that was your car I referenced? I just searched for maxima roof spoiler and looked through the pics, didn't mean to offend or anything, just getting examples of what I was and was not going for with mine

No offense man glad to see another member taking a liking/love for the 4th gen

I don't think they would look right on a 4th gen, but I'm curious too... ?
Wheels are drop50 from the local shop. Just some aftermarket ones I got when my OEM one was trashed. There cheap only like 700 bucks or so. You prolly won't see them on a max....they are just a rim I found for temp why I looked for G35 ones
Tint is coming up that's smoke 45% that's faded. Been on there since I got the car. I'm replacing with super gunmetal 30% and 50% windshield to highlight my car color.

I can't hate on G35's.
I just got mine.

Sorry about your thread Ameri.
Sorry bro! We are off topic
no worries
So when I was showing the examples of what I was going for, was it your max that I quoted?
That'd be two org cars
G35 rims are
...the 6 spokes are on my list along with the 5.5gen 6 spokes as my upgrades when I need new tires
