Maxine 2K with front and rear JDub.

Hi,
I have been a member of the org for over a year now and I decided to introduce my old Maxima to the community.

She's a 2000 GXE with 118 000 km, she recently went through a fender bender and needed new front and rear bumpers.

I bought Doublea's old JDub bumpers and decided to give the old Max a new look.

I'm not done yet, this is a work in progress and I do most of the work myself since I'm a poor man and I'm limited financially for the moment.
The next step will be to lower the Max and get some 18 inch mags also a megan racing catback because the stock muffler doesn't stick out enough with the JDub rear bumper lol.

I blacked out the original grille and front emblem also the rear badge and maxima lettering have been blacked out. The sidemarkers have been rewired to blink with turn signals. The lower openings of the front bumper have been covered with homedepot honeycomb mesh painted black.

How can I post the pictures directly in the thread instead of posting the links?

Needs sides, a drop and wheels to pull that kit off.

Your bumpers are in serious need of some 3000 grit lovin' and a good buff.

Looks good so far, but IMO, I would've ridden around on steelies with no bumpers before slapping this kit on without the rims and skirts.

But maybe that's just me.

Hey guy's like stated above it's a work in progress and moneys short right now, I have a 5 year old son and a 1 year old daughter and I'm in school taking my electrician course right now so most of my $$$ is going to my kids...

I bought the car 2 years ago, I knew nothing about Maxima's back then I was more of a Honda/volkswagen guy lol. I bought it to be used as a daily driver to get me from point a to point b.
It's a 12 year old car, I love it a lot quite possibly the best car I have owned so far and it's the perfect car if you have 2 kids

Problem with my max is it's been driven in the winter in Quebec and our roads are the worse in north america, cars rust like crazy and get loose from the ****ty roads. I'm at the point where I need to spend serious money to keep it in good shape, motor and transmission are fine but undercarriage and body is showing it's age.

I take care of it as much as I can and have put in plenty of repairs since I bought it but I'm thinking a newer car would be the best solution for where I live, I will probably keep the max until it dies but I'm going to have to start takin it easy on her, and keep her off the roads in the winter or shes going to rust right through with all the other older nissan's over here my buddy had a 99 maxima and the wheel well's we're rusted right through nasty and it was just 1 year older then mine!!! Nissan bodies don't seem to like the salty winter roads of Quebec.

By the way I did drive around without the rear bumper for a couple weeks lol!!! People look at you funny when you don't have a rear bumper lol.
Even had a cop follow me but I guess he was too busy cause he put his lights on and passed me to go elsewhere he he.

As for the paint job that's a cheap rattle can job took me 2 hours and costed 100$ of paint, wasn't sure if I was going to keep the bumpers on or not I just wanted to mock it up first to give me an idea of what the finished look would be like, it's hard to tell when they are just gray plastic so I painted temporarily.
Overall I like these bumpers on the Maxima especially with my dark color. I plan on getting 17-18 inch mags soon and I'm definetely getting side skirts, just want to get JDub skirts if possible to have a look that matches if not then probably stillen side skirts.

As much as I like the dropped look I'm not sure I want to lower mine because of the fact that it's a daily driver for now and the roads here have 4 different types of pavement they look like retarded zebra stripes, theres patches everywhere and potholes and sometimes the roads have 6-8 inch drop off it's terrible on older cars.

I will post more pictures as the progress continues, I will be on summer vacation soon for 3 months that will give me a chance to work and have $$$ to finish this project, come back in 2 months and she will have a nice pro paint job side skirts and nice rims.
