New from Houston
I currently drive a 09 accord coupe. I modded the absolute crap out of it and i love it. But i think its time for something new.
I'm thinking about getting a maxima but i am not quite sold on buying it yet. i know quite a bit about it because i work at a nissan dealership. But i know nobody knows the maxima like the people who already have them. so let me know anything about it.
here is my ride.

CVT is nice if you are an old person that isn't a car enthusiast.
For anyone that is a car enthusiast it just doesn't feel right.
Try test driving it if you haven't already. I personally don't like the feel of it. You can't tell when the car is changing gear.

That totally makes sense to me now. its a bit more responsive whenever you can actually feel what gear your in

Yeah, I use to detail cars for a Nissan Dealer, so I've had the chance of driving almost every Nissan. The CVT is very depressing to drive. If they had a 6speed option in the 7th gen, I'd be all for it.

Not bad ... something else... good or bad??? dont make me cry man haha thats my baby haha

That's a very clean coupe! Minus the billet grill and add small spacer in back
As someone above mentioned, the 7th gen is only equipped with CVT otherwise I would have gotten one which leaves only the 4th and 5th because I dont like the 6th styling (too bloated for me). It will be hard to find a 4th gen in clean condition but the 5.5th got some oil burning issues, so... better research first! Or perhaps consider the I35 cousin? Essentially the same but is a bit higher quality such as thinker padding on armrests, thicker sound deadening in door, rear sunshade, etc

Does that accord have the 2.4L four banger?
If so, you will enjoy the torque Nissan's VQ series engines put under your right foot. Its all in what you want really. I'd rather have a 12 year old car that will smoke most anything in its class and gets 390mi to a tank of gas.
I also wont drive a car that doesn't have three pedals. This puts the CVT into the old person/teenage girl catagory IMHO. As someone above mentioned, if Nissan offered a 6 speed MT in the 7th gen, I would buy one right now......today. Alas, they do not....so Im looking for a Z/G.
Broken down by generation. (My opinion BTW)
4th gen = Old but good. Highly mod-able. Cheap. Reliable.
5th/5.5 gen = most fun to drive, best aftermarket support (i.e. NWP, Stillin, Cattman etc)
6th gen = slow spaceboat
7th gen = CVT + spaceboat + expensive = Fail.
Performance and mechanical reliability > looks and gas mileage.
