zero2sixtyZ's 5.5 replacement...

Guy always runs his mouth...
Yes, so the 335 went in for some service. She developed a wastegate rattle, a common, and known issue. SO well known, that there was a class action lawsuit, BMW extended the warranty, blah blah. ANYWAYS, that meant bringing in the car...
Samuel1021 set me up with a pretty 2013 328xi loaner, that I drove like I stole... and it still managed to get great mpg.
Back to my car... So, in order to repair this issue, they need to replace the turbos with new units that have the updated wastegates. How this is done, is by using a rig to drop the entire front subframe, suspension, transmission and all.
While in the hands of a really good tech there, I had them do the carbon cleaning (where they spray and vacuum walnut media over the valves to clean the buildup), new vacuum lines, new spark plugs. Because of the engine pull, coolant and P/S fluid was flushed as well, and the front end aligned to spec.
I can confirm the car came back clean, strong, and pulls harder than ever.

My issue was a wastegate sticking...

Wow that is intense, Gizm0. I'm glad I didn't have to tackle that myself. I am dreading the water pump replacement however, and will probably try to do that ahead of time to avoid being stranded.

Struts or CO's on that G? Sounds like it's time for some new suspension parts.
BTW, Zero... speaking of which, I finally lowered my car last week on those Swift Springs that I was hoping would be installed for the meet-up. Check it out. Not even remotely as low as your buddy here, but it works for me. Looks rather practical, IMO.

You're definitely a candidate for CO's. Probably new end-links, as well.

Love the new drop, Rochester. Perfect height IMO. I've read nothing but great things about Swift springs, and have driven an S2000 with them. Even guys with coilover assemblies are switching out for Swift coilover springs... proves they can make a good product. I'm planning on them for my 335.
However, that paint line on the rear bumper ... Wish it followed the body line instead of cutting down sharper.

You and me both. Haven't decided whether to re-do the vinyl job, or have it painted. (Leaning towards paint.) Thing is, just so many other things I want to do that this falls low on the list. I'll likely leave it as-is until the day it peels or gets torn, and deal with it then.

Also, it's been confirmed. June 11th or 12th, Samuel1021 and I will be travelling to Toronto in the 335. Let us know if you're around for a beer or Pellegrino, Rochester. We'll be driving through your neck of the woods.

I'll be around. Just remember to contact me before hand, and we'll meet up for some wings & beer. I'd like to see this 335 of yours. We'll swap cars for a little drive, and set Samuel1021 up in a lawn chair to take pictures.

My car has Bluetooth, but for calls only. Does not support A2DP (audio streaming). On top of that, Airplay is a lossless protocol, so the audio clarity is much better IMO. Only drawback is a slight delay between any buttons pressed, and what is playing out on the speakers.
