J31 shift lock
J31 shift lock
Hi guys, new member in Australia, and new owner of a used 2004 J31 Maxima.
Long story short.... after 5 days owning the Maxima, it almost had me calling for a tow truck to retrieve her . Parked the car for a minute, got in, went to drive away, car will not shift from park.
After some Google research, Turns out to be a problem with the shift lock feature. Anyway I got back on the road using the shift lock over ride button. (happy day)
Now what I am hoping is that this is a common problem, and someone will tell me what it is... I am guessing its either solenoid, relay or switch at brake pedal. But which one ?
I am a little bit handy around with a tool kit and extremely tight fisted when it comes to paying someone to repair something I could do myself.
Thanks in advance guys
and for the guy about to ask did I check the fuses.... Yes I did
Cheers
Chris
