Extended Start / Long Start
Extended Start / Long Start
After replacing battery and alternator because my 8th Gen Maxima SL starting going to limp mode which cleared issue car started having long start. Would not go away
Took to the Nissan dealership and $1800 later still same issue they could not repair it even after engineers at Nissan which were on site for another issue could not figure it out.
We have changed every sensor tested timing all response modes no light errors nothing but long start will not go away. Last suggestion which was change fuel pump was completed and same thing.
Any ideas?

Did they hook up a fuel gauge before replacing the fuel pump and check what fuel pressure it had at startup and how much bleed down of pressure there was after 1-2hrs of sitting with the engine off after?
Hello yes they said they did that this is why he told me before leaving to change the fuel pump it was his last resort. I was just so surprised at what they charged me and not repair issue. They actually indicated they reduced cost because they could not figure it out. Still $1,800 out of pocket same issue I am thinking it must be a relay or something electrical I do not think the 8th Gen has a separate fuel filter I believe it to be built into the pump or am I mistaken?
