99 Max SE oil level
99 Max SE oil level
After returning to the dealer to inspect the car one last time before deciding whether to buy i pulled the dipstick to check the oil it was in fair shape not to dirty or clean but the problem is the level after i wiped the stick clean and pulled it back out the oil ran pretty far passed the full mark can you say overfill i repeated this a few times no change their is definately to much oil and i know this is bad for the car.Now my question is could the dealer or previous owner be trying to hide something by adding to much oil?when the car is running it sounds fine but don't think you should be running the engine to often with to much oil.Any opinions this is really making me have second thoughts thanx.
I don't know how you checked the oil, but our dipstick is probably the worst thing ever designed
It took me forever to get accurate oil readings because of the poor design.
Now I warm up the car slightly, then let it sit 10 mins or so so the oil can drop back into the pan. Put the dipstick in "upside down" with the dipstick pointing down towards the front of the car. Then pull the dipstick out and flip it over "right side up" to view the actual oil level.
Hope that helps.
