Please look at these plugs....need replaced??

I'm trying to decide if these plugs are stock and/or if they need to be replaced?? My '97 has 94K on it and I'm not sure if the previous owner has changed them? They don't look all that bad?!?!

Please copy/paste the following URL to see what i'm talking about.

THANKS!!

That looks like the original NGK plug. Plugs can be bad even if they look good. As they age the internal resistance goes up and reduces the spark. The first time I changed my plugs I thought they looked fine. I even checked the gap and it was .044 just like the new ones. After I drove the car the first time I could tell it was running better right away. It just felt smoother. I guess looking at them doesn't tell the whole story.

Ok...Would original plugs look that "clean"...for 94K?

I bought those NGK "Laser Platinum" from work?

Part# PFR5G-11 or 2647 I'll probably just put them in...?

What do you guys think?

The NGK number is the right one.

My original plugs look like that at about 75,000 miles. If you already have them put them in. I believe you will feel a difference.

Do these plugs come pre-gapped?

If not, it's .044 isn't it?

According to the FSM, gap is 1.0-1.1mm (.039-.043 in). Should come pre-gapped, and shipped in the box with a little cardboard "tube" to protect the tip. Be careful checking the gap on platinum plugs as to not mess up the tip. Standard plug is PFR5G-11, hot is PFR4G-11, cold is PFR6G-11 (all NGK). Yours looked fine, so unless you have spark knock from extended highway driving or very frequent high rpm, I'd stick with the standard. If you do have spark knock, you can use the colder plug. Torque is 14-22 ft-lb. Hope this helps.
