VTC and Armrest/Console Lid Questions...

Hey everyone. Like so many, I am also new to this forum and to owning a Maxima.
I have a 1992 SE 5-spd.

3 Questions:
1) Generally speaking, how much is it to have the VTC Rebuilt by a mechanic?

2) Generally speaking, how much is it to have the VTC Replaced by a mechanic?

3) The only interior flaw on my car is a torn Armrest (Console storage lid). Does anyone know where I can pick one of the these up? (Black leather interior)

Thanks in Advance people!

VTC repair (everything) is usually $1500+...

An idependent mechanic may do it for less if he's willing to take on the job.

However, I think the rebuild kit itself is somewhere around $300.

You could just get your console recovered at any upholstery shop for around $30 or so.

Auto VE onwers hehe

The VTC rebuild kits are very cheap. Like less than $50 each. But IMHO it's a crap shoot if it works or not and it's not that easy to rebuild one. A few guys here have done it.

Check the faqs for the VTC by me and try to search the forums also. It's all here.
