English

If your stereo is fadeing to the right with CD's
and the dealer is telling you it is because you are using
Burnt CD's or a CDR
it is an excuss

This is the most incoherent thread I have ever read.

Burned CDs are the cause. Anything over 74 minutes seems to be a major problem.

Somewhere along the way I've missed the exact problem. I will tell you that I haven't had any problems with CDs or CDRs no matter the length in my factory BOSE. The manual says not to use CDRs but then the manual says not to do a lot of things.

I'd take it to the dealer and show them the problem with regular cds. Sorry, if this has already been suggested.

If skipping or bad sound is the problem, maybe you've gotten the inards dirty or something. Sounds like a plain ol' defective unit to me though. Good luck.

Did you ever stop to think that maybe not ALL CD-Rs could cause this problem?

The 80 minute CDR's are what has killed my boss' Nissan CD changer twice now. He switched to 74 minutes and he is fine.

all music played in my car is burned on 74 and 80 minute (mostly 80) cds (i dont want to lose my originals if my car gets jacked). they have never caused any problems for my non-bose system for the past two years.

Re: Re: Umm Little thought to that last comment

I have used all types and sizes (74 vs 80) CDRs and haven't had any problems. I think his problem is something else. He probably has gotten some dirt, dust or oil in the player from a dirty disk. Does the radio do it? Does the tape player do it?

Hell, if it's fading left and right or front and rear, maybe it's the amp?

Is the dealer giving you a hard time or something?

Well, my boss' is Bose and the problem was with the changer. The stereo shop that repaired it told him that the 80 minute CD-Rs are the problem.

Don't shoot the messenger. Or placate him. or excuss him.

are you using the cheap ones that you can see through? this must be a new thread from a previous one because it doesn't discuss the problem. If the problem is the head unit not ejecting a disc then it is probably the cheap CD-R that doeesn't have a label on the top. the mechanism sometimes sees right through the disc and gets confused. many many in dash changers have this problem.

Actually

This is not specifically with CDR's as I said in a previous post. As it occurs with original CD's not just CDR's. Although as I said in the other thread that I accidentally strayed off of it can be resolved with a sudden jolt to the center console. Or using the right knee to bump the console where the radio is located.

Pls forgive, as I haven't seen the original post.

Is this just happening with the CDs or does it happen with the radio or tape? (Is the problem left/right cutout or what, please briefly explain symptoms)

I have a 2002 with the Bose in-dash 6cd changer. I only play burned CD-R's, never used any CD-RWs or "real" CDs. Haven't noticed any fading/balance problems so far. *knock on wood*

In my experiance

It acts as if there is a short in the system. As I do not listen to the radio I have yet to experience it in that mode of opperation. The 1 hour that the tape deck was used since I bought my car no problems experienced. Thus this only occurs when using the cd player and occurs no matter what type or brand of CD used. And no offince but when Miles Davis starts fadeing for no reason we have issues.

I see how that could be a problem. Gotta have Miles when doing miles.

This definetly sounds like a short in the headunit to me. It appears you have one on order? Hopefully that will fix it. Nissan is picking up the tab right?

This just started happening to me on thr weekend. Left speakers cut out or can bearly be heard. But works just fine with the radio or tape.

I have 5 original CDs and one burned CD-R not 80 minute though.

Sometimes if I open and close my door it comes back on, which is very strange!

My bose deck died when my car was only 2 years old, I pulled it out of my car and broke it into a million (give or take a few) peices.
