I like the look of having the fenderwell full and wonder if anyone has put 20's on their car without rubbing or complications? can you guys recomend a good place to buy wheels and performance parts.

 

I've seen someone put 22' on Maxima...It looks so nice...I don't know about how harsh the ride is.
Try to do the search and read FAQ. It should really helpfull.

 

TWENTY-TWO'S? Sorry, but that's just plain ugly. There is a point where it is overkill, folks. 18's on a 4th gen is plenty, as are 19's on a 5th gen. Beyond that looks chintzy and draws attention away from the car itself, rather than blending with the total package. My opinion, true, but I bet most hold it.

looks better than i expected but still i believe it is over-kill, I wouldnt go with anything bigger than 19" on a 4th or 5th gen. Also, the reason (i think) they look good at all at that size, is because they are chrome, which I am not a particularly huge fan of. But to each his own. They look better than i expected.

Now imagine some dolt putting 21" silver finish, racing wheels on his maxima.

 

20's will fit with no problems if the car is not dropped. u have to roll the back fender if u lower a little. i had to roll the front and back with ground control.

 

A little OT...but is that a LCD screen in your steering wheel?!?! What happened to the air bag?

 

I have 19 inch wheels with a 2" drop on a 96 GXE and i do not rub or hit... Yet i have 235/35 not 245/35 like wikidbwoy. but it fits fine.

 

When I was replacing my brake pads this week, I noticed that my rims were rubbing a little bit on the inside of the wheel well. Its nothing serious, but I still noticed it. I've only got 17" x 8" with 235/45ZR17. I'm lowered about 1.5" with Eibach Pro-Kit and I have Koni shocks. Has anyone else gotten any rubbing with rims this small??

 

yes, he has a tv in his steering wheel.. There was a flame war on this setup a while back, give the search a look.

 

i had 20's on my max.. lexani krystals 245/35/20... i lost abot a quarter turn on my steering wheel but no big deal. i just had to make more 3 point turns.

What offset are your wheels?

 

I'm not sure. They're Borbet Type E's and I bought them from Tire Rack online about a year ago. I really wasn't into modding so much back then so I don't remember all the details. Is there any way I could find out? Thanks.

 

I think the info maybe be cast on the inside of the wheels. Something like "ETxx" with the xx being the offset amount.

 

I've seen plenty of 4th Gens with 20's down South. The size looked ok but I didn't like some of the rim designs..

 

I'm sorry man but 20" rims and PERFORMANCE don't go together...

they do fit but they rub and if its lowered like my friends you will bottom out. I dont think its worth all the trouble he cut his fender walls out and it didnt help. but if you want 20"s go for it but 18"s will ride and fit alot better

I got 20's and they ride very smooth and look awesome, loss in performance, but that why I got slicks for the track

 

 

Thanks everyone I think I will opt for the 18's just because I want to still maintain a certain level of performance. Plus they are less expensive.
