For all you smart car guys

I had an new engine put in recently and everything was goin good until I had to get it smog tested. It failed twice. I had some Nissan people look at it and they said it was due to a misfire at a certain rpm. The code that came off for that for primary ignition signal fault. A pretty big code so I am taking it back to the people who installed the engine. I was just wondering if anyone knew about a problem like this and what might be hooked up wrong to cause this? Any help would ease my mind. Thanks.

Most likely, it sounds like a harness is either unplugged, or a harness has been cut/damaged, preventing it from giving the ECU the proper readings.....

Check your condensor. The primary ignition side is the low voltage side. Something as simple as a connection thats not secure can screw that up.

YES

Make sure your ground wires are all secure as well. Not the battery terminals, I'm talking about the various ground pionts on the engine.
