a few friends and i were planning on going to see the movie dude, wheres my car on friday. we knew the movie was going to sell out fast so i went and bought tickets a few hours early. about 50 mins to the movie we left to get good seats. i wes driving down a road near my house to jump onto the highway and i saw a cop coming down the road on the opposite side. the speed limit was 40 and thats what i was doing. my radar didn't go off. as i passed him i saw him brake and he u-turned it. i took down my radar and proceeded toward the highway. i got a green light and started to enter the ramp with the cop behind me. lights go on and i pull over. (damn i have a movie to get to!!)he gets out and its a ***** cop from my towm. he said my front lights looked blueish. (the lights on the sides of the car on the bumper next to the turns)they are the polarg super whites. he said people might mistake me for a firefighter. to me the lights aren't blue, they have a slight tint to them. so i give him my license and he comes back 15 mins later with a ticket. (unauthorized blue lights). i had to sit front row a the movie. that cop really ruined my night. thanks for listening to me vent... i wonder what the fine will be

I hear ya' man! F*cking cops are trying to ruin my life here in Ontario! I have a couple of tickets that carry a lot of demerit points! I need to talk to someone at the Ministry of Transportation about erasing those points real fast! I know it is possible! You pay the fines and they erase the points. Anyway there's my venting

I just got my insurance renewal form (lucky they even renewed it... but they only saw onye ticket; the other one is up in the air still) and I'm paying $1000 CDN more per year! grrrr

Speedmn: What kind of tickets you have? speeding or tickets about having blue lights and stuff? I'm in Toronto and am thinking of installing Eurolites blue-tinted lights but I don't want to get pulled over for them so just wondering if thats what you got the ticket for?

Speeding. I'm planning on getting Eurolites too. Where are you getting them from and how much?

BTW you wouldn't happen to know anyone at MTO that would be able to help out a fellow car fanatic would you?

I have the same Polarg bulbs for the sidemarkers. Blue? It doesn't look blue to me. Maybe you should have tell the cop to go and get his eyes check. There are good cops out there, but there are also cops that just like to harass people. Mistaken you for firefighter? Man, that cop must be an idiot. Didn't say anything back to him? I know it's not smart to do that, but some cops think just because they are the law, they can do anything. I got pulled over once by a cop for having my foglights on. What's the big deal? It's not like my fogs were blinding people, it was aimed low. That cop just was just harassing me. He even asked me did I have anything to say after he gave me the ticket. I just said back to him that since he's the law, he can just do whatever he wants, so there's nothing I can say/do to change that. He didn't say anything, just like a surprised look on his face. I guess I was right. This is a shame for all the good cops. I even know a hs buddy that is a cop. Even he told me there are lots of "bad apples" in his department. He told me that some of his fellow officers just like to harass people. I don't know why he told me that, but I guess even he was tired of it. I was shock when he told me that.

Yeah, do what perlmax said. And add, "these are the same bulbs, I told the officer he needs to get his eyes check."

Re: spddemon

I'm from Toronto... got those damn tickets in Waterloo... hate small town cops! That's why I'm looking for someone who knows someone that works at MTO. I've been clean for all the 6 years that I've been driving going into my 7th. I heard that if you have a strong record like that they will drop the points if you do an interview. I know someone that paid like $1000 to clear $600 worth of tickets (2 of them) and all his points were dropped from MTO.

I'm actually from the camry forum but I love the info. that you guys out out on the Max forum. Love the V6 engine of the Max too. I came to hang out here too and learn more about your cars.

WICKED1044: I got two tickets for the same $hit, plus a ticket for my super white headlights saying "they are too strong and are illegal", this was about a year ago. I took them out for a month and decided to put them back in cause they look a hella lot better than clear bulbs. But i did change the headlights to the Piaa's and they do look alot better than the blues.
Anyway, tonight at the mall i had one of my clear blinker lenses stolen off my car. I got out to my car and checked it out before i got in and saw my front side marker dangling and the blinker lense missing. I was so F***ing pissed that i ripped one off another maxima that was near by, but it was amber. I had to put a lense in that opening cause my CAI is right there and plus it was raining out, so i didnt want the rain to kill my intake and engine. So now i have the stock Amber lenses in, which dont look too bad. But I plan on buying another set of clear very soon.

peace

Toronto + Polargs..

There's a lot of cops around here that will question the legitness of the polarg's. Just last week I pulled into a R.I.D.E. program, got asked the usual questions, with the addition of "What color are your head lights" .. The PIAA's aren't very blue at all, but the polarg's are a little bit on the boarderline side. Since he could only see the corner lights from where he was standing, I guess he knew I had redone the headlights.

I wanted to reply with "Is that some sort of new sobriety test officer?" but I just told him they were PIAA Superwhites all round, and that they were white colored. He said 'ok', gave me my coupon book and let me go. Using polarg's for your corners shouldn't be much of a problem unless you run into a peckerhead like wicked1044 did.

I'm from New Orleans. If you drive a fixed up cars, you going to be harassed. I talked to many other import car owners who fix up their ride, it seem like the cops have a bulleyes on us. If you leave your car stock, then no problem, but once you put lights, exhausts on watch out. The cops are just waiting for you to make a mistake. That cop friend I told you guys about, well he said that just warning people is usually good enough. He told me he do pull people over for having blue lights, illegal turn signal lights, and things like that, but he give people warnings; not tickets. Pretty cool if you ask me. All he does is just try to scare people a little, maybe saying, "if I catch you a second time with the illegal lights, I will give you a ticket, so just do me a favor, and lose those lights. I rather not give you a ticket for such petty things." It usually works from what he tells me. Maybe my friend is just one of them nice/cool cops you run into. He even said that he let a few people go that was speeding, he just offer them a warning. He just tell them he patrol the area all the time, and he recognizes you, so you better not speed next time, or he'll give a ticket for sure. Of course, this was maybe for just going over the speed limit a little; not like going 100mph. in a 55mph. zone. My friend said that there are many good/cool cops too, but the few bad apples are the ones you should look out for. He just told me to be careful because not all cops are as understanding as he is. Oh, just a note, even though he's my friend, he said that he'll still bust my *** if I do something illegal. He told me he'll make sure if that if he ever arrest me, he'll put me in a cell with a big hairy guy that likes "fresh meat." LOL!
