belt squeek

I've developed a squeek when I start up my car from the belt. I was wondering if that means my belt is on its last leg? I looked at it and it doesn't have any major cracks in it or anything.

Use Belt Dressing in spray can or a tire crayon...the old style yellow ones...the wax in it helps get rid of belt squeal.

how old is the belt? Is the belt cracked or glazed ( belt too tight) ?
A old motorhead trick is to take a bar of soap and rub it on the belt.

If you use the dressing on it, the noise might go away for a little while. But the belts are getting kinda old and should be replaced soon anyway.
