I've read different post from folks who have dynoed their car with these mods with no noticeable gain. I also believe that these cars were forced induction, so here's my question(s)
1) have anyone ever dynoed a NA car with either of these mods, any gains there?
2) since Ext Ho smoothes out the intake track, wouldn't that increase the swirl characteristics of the incoming air, making the fuel/air burn more efficently. Where as with forced induction it doesn't matter since you're forcing excess fuel/air in the combustion chamber
3) how does the ignition mod work, what is actually being amplified?

Here is the skinny.....

I'll start with the ignition, unless your running a very high output FI or N20 setup you won't need anything more than stock ignition. Since the VE has the same NDIS that the VQ does the HKS ignition won't help at all. Even on a supercharged max the HKS made no difference in power, basically its just an appearance mod. As for the extrude honed intake, yes it will make power. However you don't see any gains until like 5500rpm+. Even then the gains won't be much because the intake manifold is not a weak point in the VE. I say save your money and get the VB and/or JWT ECU. At least those are proven gains over stock. Or if your an auto do the VB and torque convertor. I can tell ya now a stock maxima with VB and TC would take a stock trannied maxima with some bolt ons! It probably won't win on the freeway, but from the lights it would kick ***.
