To:Anyone that has gotten a ticket for blue lights.LONG
hey guys, i have been pissed the last few days because of a ticker i got.(unauthorized blue lights)just went to started to think cops were o.k i got pulled over by a real s.o.b.
well i have been looking up the laws on the blue light law.
it states that colored lights need to be authorized to be placed on a car. (generally speaking the dash or roof). the light law says only white light should be on the car except where colors are needed ex.(two rear red lights seen from 300 feet when brakes are applied) my lights are super white as measured on the color temp scale. as you go from regular headlights to the high temp colors you move toward what is perfect light (perfect white or sunlight) and a blusish color is picked up. the law says this for the blue bulb law.. Blue light. One blue light may be affixed to any motor vehicle owned by a volunteer member of a fire department or on a motor vehicle owned by a member of such person`s family residing in the same household
or by a business enterprise in which such person has a proprietary interest or by which he is employed, provided such volunteer fireman has been authorized in writing to so affix a blue light by the chief of the fire department or company of which he is a member, which authorization
shall be subject to revocation at any time by the chief who issued the same or his successor in office. Such blue light may be displayed by such volunteer fireman on such a vehicle only when engaged in an emergency operation. ---- my lights and most people here had trouble with lights that were slightly blueish, and from some angle look white. the lights weren't passed was emergency lights and the law dosen't state amber is needed. if anyone can point me in a direction to where it says so please do,, thanks for reading if you made it this far..

thanks for info
My cousin and I got a ticket for illegal lights on his Q45 in NYC.
basically all we had to do was take them off...take the car to the police precinct and get it checked by a officer.
Then send the ticket in with the letter saying it was taken off.
pretty simple. stupid part is that the cop did not even check the car..he just signed his name........
gotta love New Yorks finest..
