I took my cat. converter out saturday...

And I must say there is a power increase in the low and middle rpm ranges. But with my Ravin muffler its too loud sounds like i have a hella exhaust leak. which brings up 2 questions...

1)How restrictive is the factory muffler? I may put it back on

2)What makes the factory Y pipe so restrictive??

And no its not illegal for me to take my cat out In Nova Scotia if your car is a 91 or older you dont need a cat so now its just a straight pipe back to the resonator then to the muffler

the design of the factory y seems retarded
from all the pics that i have seen, the back bank looks like it flows into the front bank where they merge. it just seems like that would cuz a hell of a lot of restriction. maybe i just couldnt see it rite or somethin, but it seems like the worst design to me.

you have no idea how retarded that design is. Get a y-pipe from warpspeed, put it side by side with your stock one. Thats why you get the serious power gains by changing to a wider non restrictive y, namely from wsp.

what really sucks is that the flex section went on mine about a week before i had to go back to school. i wanted to order one from warpspeed but my parents went nuts cuz i only had a week. so i got raped of 300 bucks from an oem pipe . oh well, at least it doesnt sound like a civic anymore.
