What Do You Clean Your Wheels With??
What Do You Clean Your Wheels With??
Ok, since I don't know how to post a proper POLE....I thought I'd put this to the general populace:
I have been cleaning the brake-dust off my vehicles' wheels for 10 years now with SIMPLE GREEN, and I can say that bar-none - it's the most economical, enviromentally safe, effective, all-purpose cleaner on the market.
When I go to racing events (AMA Superbike, American Lemans, SCCA, etc.) I ALWAYS see tons of SIMPLE GREEN in the pits and paddock area of the major teams for quick-clean-up of their machines.
COuld there be a better endorsement??
Anyway - I like to keep a coat of wax on my rims, but I think that the SG eats it off everytime I clean the brakedust off my wheels.
What does everybody else use???

After Car Washes: Meguairs Spray Wax
Between Car Washes: I clean with Meguairs Quick Mist Detailer
I stopped using the degreasers on my wheels a while ago. I've got so much wax on my wheels now that the dust just wipes off.

I use a good quality wax, and regular washing with soap and water. I won't use anything like simple green. I'ts a great cleaner, but it also strips the wax off at the same time! owners manual calls for regular waxing!

Or to clean the driveway up after you use all of that spray wax.
