Rear Brakes

I was replacing the brake pads both front and rear. The fronts were not problem but I couldn't get the rear caliper piston to retract. I tried using long nose pliers to rotate it but it would hardly move. Any suggestions

You've really gotta twist and push at the same time. Even when you do it correctly, it still takes a couple of minutes and a few rotations to get the piston all the way back into the caliper. Just keep tryin' at it with the needlenose. Good luck!

[Does Nissan or anyone else make a special tool to turn the piston while you are pushing it in.]

Yes, I bought 1 at Advance Auto. It fits 5 different sizes of rear brakes. A 3/8 in. extension and ratchet are used with it. With this tool it took me less than 15 seconds to have the caliper all the way in. It cost about $9.00 and is made by AmPro, part number T71921 and it comes with a Life Time Warranty. AmPro Tools Corp. is located in Cupertino, CA95014. It is called A Disc Brake Piston Remover.
