help w/ zex
I have a dry ZEX kit that I need to install on my 99 SE-L 5-speed. The only other mod I'll have for now is a frankencar intake. My question is, if I want to run a 55 shot..is there any other mods I need. I heard that the 5th gen max doesnt produce enough fuel for a dry setup, is this the same for the 4th gens? Do I need an upgraded fuel pump or injectors or anything?, and if I do, won't my car run too rich when I'm not sprayin? Anyone who's installed a 55 shot might be able to help me, I'd apreciate it, thanks in advance...

Your stock fuel pump will be able to handle a 55 shot, no problem. You might want to consider colder spark plugs, either the OEM 300ZX NA one or Zex sells some that are two steps colder and that is what I am running. Until you reach shots of 70 or more, you really shouldn't worry about running lean.

I am running mid 14's on a 99 GXE auto with 5 shot ZEX and am running 2 step colder Denso copper plugs gapped at .044, Walbro hi-pressure fuel pump and placed jet about 4 inches from throttle body...

You should hav no problems with a 55 shot from zex, you can even run it with the stock plugs, and fuel pump. I used zex for about one month, the best time i did on a 55 shot was a 14.3. I think ifyou run the nitrous nozzle at least 5" away from the tb, and shoot above 26 hundred rpm's you should be fine. The only thing you realy have to woryabout runnin a dry shot is injecter falier or, hitting you rev limiter. The only thing I would do is gap the plugs about.02 closer. Personly I would try tochange out to the nx kit.The power is alot better, and its safer too.
