on dry road they pull from side to side. driving in the rain on these are like suicide (well maybe not if you're drive uner 35). noisy too. i'm gong back to dunlops once these wear out.

am i the only one that thinks this? let me know cause i'm ready to write a letter to Falken. thanks.

 

i've experienced the same problem with mine. at first i thougth it was something wrong with my car but it isn't. when going down the freeway i'll just pull to the right suddenly or when stopping. they are like $100 a tire and they don't work, should get my $ back.

 

I used to have the same tires Falken Ziex 502 (225/50/16) on my Max. I have to agree, in the rain, it is like suicide. I'd always feel them pull and hydroplane...very scary.

However, they were okay for me when it was the ground was dry. Maybe it was because I had never driven on performance tires so I had nothing to compare them to. Nevertheless, I still don't recommend them to anyone. For a budget tire, the Kumho's are pretty good.

 

Wonder how the Ziex 512's are. They look ok. Price for the stock Maxima size is $132. They stress that hydroplaning is greatly reduced with this tire. I may try these in the future.

I have the Falken Ziex 502s 195/60/15. For budget I think they are nice. I cant complain, theyre my first real performance tread patterned tire. I like'm. I dont notice the pull in the rain maybe I need to check that out one day when it rains. But from any performance treaded tire youre going to get some noise from them, and as they wear it gets louder. That just goes with any performance treaded tire. I like the wear on these they work really well. My fronts are alittle lower than the backs but the backs still look like brand new tires and Ive had them since the beginning of this year.

 

stay away from falkens... go with dunlops. trust me you won't be disappointed. i had a dunlop sp5000 v rated.

 

I have had both the plain Falken Zeix's and now the Falken 512's. I never had any problems with either. Once they wear down quite a bit, the traction really drops off, but most tires are that way. The 512's have both a traction rating and temp rating of A, and have a treadwear of 360 (no flaming, I'm going off memory here since my car is in the shop )

Personally, I've heard my buddies here locally complain pretty heavily about the Kumho's far more than the Falkens.

Some have said that the Proxes are much better than both, but also much more expensive.

 

I get the pulls to one side as well. I thought it was because of the ruts in the road from those big semis. Some road noise. Squealed like crazy while autox-ing. Felt good in the wet though while going at 110+km/hr.

 

Im not defending Falken but ALL WIDE tires pull from side to side.
The dunlops I have now SUCK(No offense poorcollegeboy) I was driving yesterday in the rain and I was drifting like a ****. When I had my falkens I used to pull hand brakes and That **** didnt slide.

THEY ARE NOISY AS FUKC though.

 

Yea the guy at town fair tried getting me to buy Falkens but I said hell no im not buying tires I have never heard of before, so I went with Yokahama AVS db's.

 

The reason you might be pulling from side to side, is likely not because of the tires...

you need an alignment!


It is reccomended to get this done when putting on new tires, especially if they are different dimensions, wider or lower profile..

I'd get that checked out 1st.

Falken are not the best, but they are far far from being sh!tty.. they get decent ratings

 

i liked the dunlops MUCH better than the falkens. but i'm not complaining... got some sweet rims with them... you shouldn't complain either... you've got sweet rims too.

i do agree that the dunlops don't resist hydroplaning as well the the falkens. the dunlops grip like crazy in the rain though.... maybe your e-brake doesn't work.

I have said this for a while now. . . I have had these tires for a year and a half now and I don't feel they are safe in the rain at all. I got them because they were what I could afford at the time, I know I will not get them again. I get the pulling and stuff like that, but it is the fear of hydroplaining that concerns me the most. I don't know what I am getting next time, but it will be something other than Falkens.

 

Exp to me how they are not safe. When you make a turn ur car skids or when you accelerate?

 

Follow this and you can't go wrong... might cost you..but in the end you'll LOVE this tire

Well, there is no traction in the rain and even under light acceleration the wheels still spin, but what scares me most is when I am driving in the rain at about 60 on the hwy, it feels like I have no control over what the car is going to do. If the freeway curves at all it seems like the car doesn't stay planted and sort of drifts from one side of the lane to the other. I just worry that one day I won't be able to keep it in the lane and try and overcorrect and spin it. As I live in cali, I am not too used to driving in bad weather.

 

i just got kuhmos supra ecsta 712's about a couple of weeks ago or so... i was like, ok whatever, 74 bucks a pop can't expect much.. when i hit a decent puddle doing over 50 on the highway the other day i gripped the wheel for my life and said a prayer.. to my surprise that thing was like on rails! no hydro, no swerving.. nothing!.. i was like AWRIGHT!.. i like these!!!

 

I have Falkens. I think they do rather well in the rain, but thats about it. You are right about them pulling from side to side. They are loud and wear fast. All Falkens have a 30,000 miles warrenty on them, but goodluck with that. They are rather cheap tires, but I will prob buy them again b/c what ever tires im gonna use im gonna burn, might as well be cheap ones. The Falkens acually did better with AutoX then i thought they would, but still, they def suck
