welp........

I'd say there isn't anything to unbelivable about that. That ETC is just they same as our p/c button BUT I think it has a winter mode which starts it in 3rd gear. It shouldnt affect top speed unless it prevented it from going to 4th.....which it doesn't. At any rate a stock auto vg is good for around 125 or so. Figure a auto VE(190hp) should make it into the 130's. I'm betting your friends car is a v6 cuz the 130hp ish 4 banger AIN'T GONNA MAKE IT NEAR 140!

hmmmmm......

Yea....I don't know the camrys but I think it stands for Electronic Transmision Control....It may change the shift points....or even the firmness(faster accell), but woundn't affect top speed UNLESS it changes the ecu and advances timing among other things.

Re: hmmmmm......

My dad has that on his Avalon...you're right, it doesn't affect top speed...it just changes shift points...kind of like a "sport" mode for the auto.

LOL. It's all good though! Although I am a Avalon owner...I have love for Maximas. If I had the cash...i'd get myself a new 01 20th Anniversary Edition SE in Icelandic Pearl and Frost Cloth.

As for the ECT (Electronically Controlled Transmission) Button on the dash, it has a NORM & PWR mode. PWR mode allows the tranny to stay in gear longer for more a more aggressive shift pattern. NORM mode selects normal driving shift pattern for better fuel economy.

Whos gonna help me eat those Accord EX V6's? Hehe

That's not that amazing... A stock SE maxima tops out around 144 or so.

I love older cars without speed limiters...I got my GT-S without the supercharged engine to go 130mph at 6800rpm...now with the supercharged engine and tranny...ehh...I don't know, but I think it might be a little higher...almost scarry...I don't think my bridgestones can go that fast!

Factory supercharged motor?? The only one I know is the older MR2 engine. You have one of those in your car? Sweet!

I swapped it in from a Japanese toyota levin gt-z...it's the same motor as the MR2 Supercharged, just more power...factory power is 165hp, which I think is underrated..
