Might sound silly but did you read the directions? All of the gauges I have bought come with a great set of directions.

Might want to start there.

You need a multimeter...

(There are many wires that will have the illumination/switched 12V/ground... depending where you mount the guage or how far you are willing to run the wires.)

I see

I have a 97 and I tapped my dimmer switch for power. I do not have a voltmeter so I don't know where to tap for the read.

I have my gauges in my gloveboxso I grounded on a bolt underneath the kick panel on the passenger side.

I used wiretaps and a mutimeter to find a good ground.

What do your instructions say in regards to finding a good place to tap for the voltmeter read?

It would. Sometimes this stuff is trial and error.

The best way to not get false readings is hook it up through a relay for the power. And for illumination use the dimmer switch.
