what if you drove w/o tranny fluid in a 5spd...
ok ok, i know everyone's answer is gonna be "it'll get F-ED"
duh i know that. BUT my problem is that i drove the car today to work... if you've read my previous posts, i mentioned about the car leaking tranny fluid... it wasn't alot but enough to get me scared. UNless all the tranny fluid leaked out while i was driving somehow, what would i immediately notice when driving the car... if it has no tranny fluid in it. I only ask this because it's been about 5 hours since i've been to work and i just went out to check on the car to see how much it would leak and i see no drips...
please respond asap... how would the stick feel when shifting... blah blah blah that kinda help please!

omfg blah, i can't find a thread that explains me how to check the driveshaft to see if my bearings have failed. ARGH i remember reading it a couple months too!
can someone please explain to me how to check the driveshaft... i dunno what it is and where it's located. Also, i remember that you can test it out by wiggling the shift stick or something?? THanks guys, im gettin nervous, i'm about to have my parents call and pick me up and have the car towed to a garage.

if you were like a quart low (out of five) you would probably be fine.....a quart of oil can cover a pretty big area when it comes to "leaking". The maxima trans has a lot of "soft metal" parts in it that really really need oil. your shifting would go adsolutely right in the sh!tter if you trashed it, or were on the way to trashing it.
testing the half shaft wobble...well, grab the inner CV and if you can move it, thats bad. If the halfshaft seals are leaking notably, thats bad. the differential bearing failure will start to humm, and the leaks will get pretty bad very quickly....
if it were mine, i would make sure to top the oil off, go for a short drive...say 5-10 miles, pull it in the garage and take a sample of the trans oil and send it in for analysis....they can tell you alot by what's in your oil.
good luck....

In the past week I've mentioned 3 different times in the three different threads how to check this. If you choose to keep driving the car until something else breaks because you're ignoring the problem, that is not the fault of anyone on this board.

I know it's not the ORG's fault... i was jk. I did read ure posts and today has been the only time i've driven it since because i was absolutely screwed for a ride to work and i couldn't miss another day.
I've parked it in the garage and left it... tomorrow or the day after, i'm going go get myself some jack stands and get the car up on it so i can check the driveshaft problem and drain/fill the tranny like u guys told me to. blah this hella sucks, thanks for all the tips guys.
I want to check the driveshaft to see if it's loose or if it moves... in order to preform this task, does the car have to be raised?? or at least that side of the tire?? I tried checking it while the car was not raised or anything... jsut turned the wheel and tried to move it around. It seemed not to move... lemme know quick guys. Thanks.
