Apexi WS + y-pipe = weird noise?
Apexi WS + y-pipe = weird noise?
I have had this setup for about six months and there is a noticable noise with this setup. It doesn't sound like bees in a can and I can only hear it with the windows down and when I am next to another car, walls, houses, etc (anything that reflects the car's exhaust note). I have checked the whole exhaust system for leaks and all the bolts are secure. It this normal for this setup or do you guys think I have a problem. I appreciate your help.
I've been in a Max with bees in a can and I could hear the noise in the car with the windows up. In my case, the car sounds fine with the windows up but when I put them down, you can hear it again. The best way to describe the noise is to compare it to an air cooled engine like an old VW or a Porsche. My friend's 84 911 has the same sound. Is the flex section to blame or is it just the combination of the y-pipe and the catback?

The new WSP pipes do NOT make the bees in a can sound...I have one...it makes the same sound that you describe....but it is nowhere NEAR anything to get annoyed about.
The pipe DOES what it is supposed to do....it gives you extra hp and doesn't LEAK....I don't think you should complain at all....just my .02
