Finally, 14's
Finally, 14's
All the car needed was a CAI and some cooler air
The track was hooking okay, my same 2700 rpm launches net me 2.29 shorts, and the high 60 degree air let me grab a mph.
2.29 short, 14.96 & 91.78
The only thing done to the car is place racing CAI and removed spare tire and jack.
And too my suprise, my MEVI was waiting for me when I got home

I have my mods listed in my sig. The most significant thing is the exhaust system which is 2.5" dia. throughout from exhaust manifold back to muffler tips. I discovered later one of my front wheels was toed-in beyond the maximum recommended. I waited too long to do my front-wheel alignment after I installed the springs/shocks. Now that my toe-in is back within spec, I should be able to get into the high 14s next Spring.

Times in my sig were when I first got the car. Have intake and y-pipe now, with B&G's and KYB's in the mail.
Here are the results from after the y-pipe install:

Once I get off the line I am expecting 14.5's -14.6's at 94mph
how are you guys getting good launches like that?
when i went to the track it felt so slippery compared to a normal road. the best i could do was a 2.36 60ft.
i kept burning my tires, from lauching at 750-1500 (tried different things)
im not sure if its me or the track or what...but that's pathetic.
i went with 4 other maxima's, and the best 60ft i see is a 2.359
when you guys go to the track, is it really really slippery?
there was a ton of burned rubber left from these huge domestic muscle cars running with slicks.

well the cars ahead of me were doing burnouts in the water, i tried my best to avoid it by going around. if i avoid the water all together, ill end up in the soil, which will probably mess up my traction even more, but i did go off to the side as far as the pavement would go.

when you go to the track, right before the line, is there like a bunch of burned rubber sitting there? cause im sure that screws up traction, i burned through first so easily it wasn't funny. even the auto's could burn through first, which isn't possible on the street. on the street i don't burn through first unless i intend to, but at the track it's hard not to.
