Change of pace today
My girlfriend and I swapped cars today so that I could detail her car for her. It had not been washed in four months.
She has a 2000 Accord V6. It is silver in color, like my Max, but was looking a shad of dark gray. I gave her my Max to drive.
While washing her car, I then realized how the lines of the Accord are not as smooth and rounded as the Max's. I also realized how the side mirrors looked like they were just slapped on there. When I opened and closed the doors, they seem light and fragile, compared to the Max's heavier doors(?).
The interior was definetly more confined feeling, especially the seats. It felt as if I was sitting on the edge of the seat in the Accord whereas in my Max I had a big, wide and long seat. I was confused when I realized I was driving with no headlights turned on: I am accustomed to the auto-on/off headlights of the Max. I was actually irritated about the Accord not having auto headlights. Perhaps they do, but I thought her car had everything: I thought it was "loaded". The stereo is nothing compared to the Max's Bose, pretty lame actually.
The acceleration of the Accord was good. It felt quick and seemed to "get going" after awhile. It didn't feel as if it had lots of muscle like the Max, but once it got going "she was good". It reminded me of my '91 RX-7, in that once it got wound-up it would go. I have only driven her car a couple of times and never really "got on it" because she would freak. But, this time, me and the machine were alone for some "quality time".
The handling and steering of the Accord I liked. It was precise. It felt like it had a FSTB (it did not), like my Max, but was even more precise in steering. This may be attributed to what I perceive as a smaller, lighter car.
I like the engine compartment of the Accord as well as the dual exhaust look.
I'm not starting an Accord vs. Maximum war. I like her Accord and encouraged her to buy it since she thought the Maximum looked more like me. Overall, I like it, but this was the first time I was able to really, really look it over.
She drove my Max for the first time and liked the power.
I'm rambling...just my thoughts and observations....

thought the same thing...
when shopping.. Accord more nimble... Max more cushy ride. Accord had consistancy and value written all over it, but that also looked 'cheap' in some places like the interior. I thought the TL looked cheap too inside. However, I knew getting into the heavily styled Max, that it would look dated in a few years.. while the honda will still look like, well... a honda. Rude salesmen and lack of willingness to price competitively really drove me from the accord. I was not inspired enough by what I saw in the car to fight for it. Had it had more 'flair' (to borrow a term from Office Space), I might have been more moved to get one of those.
wicked
thats wicked! you have a maxima, andyour gf (was it?) has a accord! that must be coolz. 2 nice cars dere... if i had a gf.. and she had an accord.. i would love that.. we would race all the time. and the loser would have to give the winner a little something special! hahaha
jokes!
jokes!
Got them Both!
I have a 2k Maxx, my wife drives a 2k Accord V6. I agree with most of the coments. Accord is nice, loaded, agile, good looking, but short on the muscle. My maxx is bigger, has a 5sp and has Power, oh! did I say it has power.
Did anyone else notice that most accord owners are... well Girls... If you get my drift..
If you could put together a car, like a PC, you know...case, Processor, HD, RAM, and all that crap... I think I would have put the Accords suspension in the Maxx.

The accord's supension is much more sophisticated than the max. It has double wishbones front and back, while we get mere struts in front and a beam out back. The wishbones make it easier to get a good ride/handling compromise.
