2K4 Maxima...in dealer showrooms in JAN??

Hey guys, just read the new Buying and Leasing Guide from Automobile Mag. and read where the 2K4 Max is due in showrooms in Jan 03? This is a couple of months sooner than i thought? Anybody else have this info?

Ha, I bet this means the 2005 model will start comming out in June of 2003 Car manufacturers are gettign as bad as magazines with dates..

Don't they show them at the Detroit auto show in Jan???? In the show roons is pretty optimistic

well...as we all know since the max is going under a total redesign, they are releasing the 2004 earlier, this is why the 2003 was moved up in release...and so on.

Actually I feel the whole one car a year thing is kinda outdated anyway. They should just switch to a new version as soon as they can econimically retool for it. Drop the year identifier and just version them I remember when I was looking at Passats (yeah, I know...) and you had to be real careful about specifying the 2001.5 model. It was too early to be called a 2002 but had a completely different subframe than the 2001. I got a lot of blank stares when I asked if the car on the lot was a 2001 or a 2001.5. Oh well....

why don't they call a jan 2003 release a 2003. car release dates are weird.

One would think that makes sense. But it's all a big game. Everyone wants the latest and greatest so being able to say "my cars a 2004" atracts people. On the other side of the equation it makes people who just bought a maxima feel like there car is 2 years old, nn reality it's not even one year old..
