Don (Pearl96Max)..... READ THIS !

Don,
they finally installed the remote starter Viper 550 ESP on my car. They had to drill a hole into my door to find the orange/black wire for the door lock. Is this normal as with other Viper 550 ESP installations on 2K2 Maxima? Also, I said I wanted every possible options to be installed. I paid $400 and the sales guy forgot to write down trunk release, so the technican didnt install it in my car. ***GOT! So I tried to make an appointment with him. I said I need the trunk release badly, and I asked him if it's possible to install that this afternoon. Prolly takes about 30-45 minutes for a professional to get it installed. He said he was busy. Then I replied that it was only 30-45 minutes! He rudely said that I didnt hear him. WTF? I heard him alright, just that I wanted my alarm system installed ASAP. He said the thing only takes about 4 hours, 6 at max. It's been 3 days and it's not done yet. The brain of the alarm is all over the place. Sometimes, I ran into the brain and accidentally kicked it when I place my left foot on the dead pedal.

BOTTOM LINE: STEREO WAREHOUSE SUCKS BIG TIME!!!

Hey Limsandy, I replied to your PMs, but also 4-6 hours to install it?!?!?! WTF kind of **** is that? Tell them they dont their a$$ from a hole in the ground.

The trunk release should take approx 10mins especially with the brain still so easily available.

Pearlmax is right. The wire for the trunk release is at the SECU.
It's a ground trigger on the 2003 and requires a very good ground.
(possible relay needed to increase ground) Still 10 minute job.

Don,
I never got your PMs anymore..... the last PM I got was the one where you said you didnt have any friends in Seattle to do the installation.

Anyway, it's clear to me that the guy installing my alarm has no experience with the complicated wiring of the 2K2 Maxima SE. He's probably more experienced installing ****ty cars like Civics.

Something is still bothering me. He said he drilled a hole into my door to get the door unlock to work!!! Is this normal? Do you always drill into someone's door when installing door unlock?

Yes. You have to run 2 wires into the driver's door in order to get the locks to work. The reason behind this is not for the actual locks (as the motor wires are available at the SECU), but because there is no factory-disarm wire. If they tapped the wires at the SECU, whenever the door was unlocked, the alarm would go off. In order to work around this, they run 2 wires into the driver's door. They tap those wires coming from the door lock switch going to the key cylinder. That way, when the alarm unlocks the doors, the factory alarm thinks that a key was used, and therefore disarms.

Okay, do you know how the driver's seat moves back and forth when you put in and out your key into the ignition? The thing is.... if I use the remote start, the seat wont move back and forth. What can I do to make the seat move forward while using remote start?

Nah, I haven't a clue. I'd think that they'd perform as normal, but.... there is a slight possibility that you'd need to tap the little chime wire in order to make them move. I'll look in the ESM and see if they have info on it.

my disgruntled reply...

I have a manual. Why bother even putting the switch in the car if it is COMPLETELY USELESS. It only works with an automagic, so why spend the extra $20 to put it in a manual.

^^^ My complaint
