Car feels like i havea tranny problem!!!

About a month ago, my car started to hesitate when i gave it some gas. I have a 5 spd, and it would do it while in gear, obviously! It would jump about 500-700 rpms, and go back down about a half second later. NOW, it jumps about 1500 rpms when i give it some gas. I don't know what to do, and I have no ideas as to what it could be. Can anyone out there help me out??? Also, from a stand still, it takes a litle extra gas anymore to get going. Please help me. BTW, mods are frankencar intake, wpspd y and b pipes. Thanks again.

First and easiest thing to check is for vacuum leaks around intake between MAF and throttle body

...then check fittings and all plugs/sensors in engine bay to make sure they are all plugged in tight

...then check/replace fuel filter

...inspect tb inside for build-up...clean if necessary

...pull spark plugs and look for damaged electrode

get compression test on cylinders since plugs are going out anyway.

Good luck!

a 500 to 700 jump would be something like the a/c compressor kicking on.

How about coils? You having any rough idling?

no rough idling. idle around 800. does anyone here have the frankencar intake? if so, is one of the hoses pinched about half it's normal size? the one in the back of the engine bay is pinched for me!!! would that be the problem, perhaps??? Thanks again

Could be. I never tried to drive like this, but to settle a bet I disconnected the vaccum lines and it idled pretty low. Did you use your original lines with the franken? You can get 5/8 hose at autozone for cheap, if you measure before you go, they can cut it for you. This may not be your problem but it is inexpensive enough to just go ahead and try.

well, i used the one from frankencar. it is too long. but, i think if i cut it down, it will also crink up. I don't know! I will give anything a shot at this point.
