Does it happen everytime you start it or just the first time in the morning?
If it happens everytime, that would be easier cause you could have someone start the car while you're standin in front with the hood open to listen.
Is it a grinding kind of sound that last for maybe 2 seconds or more of a squeeling kind of Eeeeeeeee sound?
most likely suspects:
starter
alternator
loose belt
Have you done any engine work to your car recently?

Depends what the sound is.
1) If it goes "voooo" then its probably the starter failing to disengage. If this is the case, regrease your starter following the directions on www.motorvate.ca to see if that helps
2) If it sounds like "screeee" then its a loose belt. You will need to tighten the adjustments nuts for the belt tensioner if this is the case, or just replace the belt entirely
3) Lastly, it could be vacuum leak, which would be the hardest to diagnose.
