New best tonight but sure need programming

I ran a new best tonight. 14.230 @ 96.63 mph, 60' - 2.120.

The car does have a little more in it. It feels like I may be hitting the revlimiter before each shift with the added hp. It's shifting at over 6500 rpm now. Also I only launched at about 1/2 throttle or I get violent wheel hop. I need programming for shift point and stiffer motor mounts.

I made a post in the 1/4 mile section about the kills I made. One 5.0 Mustang was pretty surprised.

very impressive. It seems that the autos aren't too off from the times of a 6 speed.

Nice times Larry. Good to see the WarpSpeed Y-pipe making some waves. Wonder when the radial arms will be ready?

KLoWnPR109,

With a loose torque converter and of course traction the auto's would run better than the standards. Unfortunately when it shifts it falls on it face as it drops too far below max torque. This is where the 6 speeds beat the autos.

slickrick,

My mods are the Warpspeed Y & B pipes, modified factory muffler, K & N cone air filter and an ASP underdrive crank pulley. I was running 24.5 psi in the front tires and 40 in the back. I had the spare tire, jack and the board on the spare tire removed. Wish their scale would have been working.

02MaximizedVQ,

Tell me more about radial arms. Will they eliminate wheel hop?

Not to thread jack or anything, but you're one of the first, if not the first, 2k2 with the Warpspeed Y Pipe. Tell me, how does it sound/perform? Did you dyno before and after? Any info you can provide would help.

Supposedly they will completely eliminate wheel hop. If you go to WarpSpeed's webpage, click on upcoming products. I'm sure if you email Dallas he'd give you an update on the situation.

Here's a copy of my time slip along with another run that was almost as good. Actually a little more mph on the other.

Larry thats a very impressive 60' you got there, and a pretty nice time too. If you look at your dyno plot(if you have one) you will really see you dont need reprograming.

Thanks!

I do have a dyno and peak hp occured at 6200. I don't really feel that 6500(maybe a little more) is shifting to high only in that it seems to be hitting the revlimiter or making a slow funny shift going this high. Didn't used to shift this lazy. I can't say for sure what it needs but it is not shifting like it should to get best et.

I too have the WSP y-pipe and find it my duty to share this with you...

The restriction in the '02-'03 exhaust system is not the y-pipe or the stock muffler... the restriction is in the b-pipe with the huge kinks in it, AND in the pre-cats. If you replace the b-pipe alone, you've just saved yourself a ton of money and freed up a lot of restriction. If you want to eliminate the restriction caused by the precats (like Emax95 did), you'll be using an older style y-pipe which eliminates the pre-cats, and then will benefit from a full 2.5" exhaust system. If you opt not to do that, simply replace the b-pipe and you'll be satisfied with the power increase and the fact that you didn't spend a bunch of $$$ for increased noise. Larry and I have had a number of discussions regarding this matter, and have basically come to this conclusion as what I've just stated.

My dyno result's will be posted later on after they are reviewed by Dallas as he has not seen them yet.

FYI - the WSP y-pipe didn't really change the noise levels in the car, and it is actually very tollerable even with a full cat-back system and intake.
