berettas are slooooow

I was coming home after taking my girlfriend home tonight, and I'm sitting at a redlight its about to turn green and this guy in a beretta is coming up in the lane next to me, it turns green and he floors it at about 20 and I'm dead stop start. (He was a pepboys mod guy: superstreet stickers, a huge APC wing and muffler with flame stripes comin up the side)he thought he was all hot **** so i floor it right as he passes me and then a few seconds later I have a couple cars on him and just keep goin' all the way. People underestimate max's, I dunno why... He was afraid to pull up next to me again, and he hung back way behind me, even though i was going 15 in a 45. Cant wait to see what will happen with a few more mods

I raced my friends beretta and let me tell you slow is an understatement..we raced from 0-90 and by 90 he said I had him by easily 15+ Car lengths..No kiddin..Those cars are so slow.

First off yes, barettas are slow. I dont really think they were ever meant to be fast.

Second. People underestimate maxes because like it or not, its a gramma car. 4 doors. Monster truck stature. Kinda boaty. It's not a real small car and you dont see a ton of them modded like you see civics and jettas. Not to mention the average max owner age is 40-80.

street racing is bad, but since we are on the subject dont even bother racing berettas, or civics that dont have engine swap or turbo.

don't SI's with bolt-ons run high 14's?
i'd say thats pretty good competion, as it will take a modded auto 4th gen, and challenge a 5spd.

No. Stock civic SI's run low 16's. Fat chance a bolt on exhaust and intake will put it into 14's. That is if you arent talking about vortech's "bolt on" sc.

Si's need a good amount of work to get int the 14's....a 5spd max can get 14's stock(w/ good driver)..some guys here have there maximas in 13's N/A. I doubt an Si could do that N/A

lets just say there is no civic that could make it into the 14's with "bolt ons." Im assuming that boltons is like an intake and exhaust. If you consider a bolt on turbo or something then ur def. right.

Plenty of SI's hit high 14's with just mild bolt ons. they're not that slow.

About the SI's,everyone has always talked them up to be such a bad civic, and of course they are not i downloaded a video of a max and a SI mods:
Max- intake, high flowcat, exhaust, and ECU
SI - high flow cat, headers exhsut and CAI
The Max ran a 14.5 and the si ran a 15.2. so to settle the problem everyone that was saying you can't get a si into the 14's with just simple bolt on you are RIGHT. it would be very hard. The max will dominate. just my two cents.

Thanks Mike

You can run 14s in an SI with just bolt ons. It's not common but it can be done. Just like you can run a 14 in a stock 4th gen. It's not common and most people can't do it but it can be done.

baretta's have a pretty strong second hear, i learned how to drive stick on my friends 95 baretta SE. but over all they arnt that quick.

and just because its a civic doesnt mean its not fast. there are a few SI that get to the high 14's with bolt ons, my friend has average bolt ons. with his Si he runs like a 15.1-15.3. which isnt bad for an N/A modded 4cylinder. a car is a car, and to each his own.

but i will say this, i am disapointed with the new Si civics, they run like low 16's stock, i think 97-2k1 ran around high 15's stock, and ironically i raced a modded SI last night, and he hung pretty well, i only pulled like 2-3 cars and i run low 15's

don't forget that most barettas on the road these days are the old 4-banger/auto POS......

Any **** who drives around with stupid APC banners,"Super street" banners, wings, exhaust tips, rice cooker mufflers, etc. should have an oil slick dropped in front of them while they're driving 65, regardless of what they're driving.

He tried to race me, and I'll race anyone who wants to, especially if they think they are superfast and its really a slow *** car. I was just pointing out how slow they are, because i had no idea it was that slow of a car- thats all i was pointing out, not "ooh look what i beat" because who gives a **** seriously, i dont care about the race, just that it was a slow car and people think maximas are slow.

Yeah, I always watch that clip too. The Max smoked that Civic! I always show it to my friend (civic driver) and he always has some excuse. Gotta love the Max!

well then, i think i should post about the friggin guy up the street from me, who has a beatup old corsica with a wing and a "fear this" banner across his windshield. Or his neighbor, with a sh1tty little hyundai accent with a body kit, "super Street" windshield banner, and a wing on it that looks like it came off of a flying saucer. Or, i could tell you about the moron kid that lives behind me, with a stupid old Legacy, that's lowered, tinted, has one dash-mounted LCD screen, and a loudass muffler. Morons are morons....they're not just limited to civics, or crx's, or cavaliers and neons.
