Easy.

1) Don't touch the bulb glass. If you do, wipe off entire bulb with isopropyl alcohol and a clean, lint free cloth before install.

2) Buy some dielectric grease from an auto-parts place.

3) Open hood, locate wiring harness at the back of the headlamp.

4) Press tab on top of harness plug & slide plug backwards off base of bulb, separating the connection.

5) Locate the plastic retaining collar around the bulb base - turn it counter-clockwise until it unlocks & remove it from the bulb base.

6) Gently pull backwards & wiggle the bulb until it comes out of the headlamp housing.

7) Gently guide the new bulb into the housing, flat-side of the bulb-base UP & press forward until it seats against the housing.

8) Re-secure the retaining ring, by turning it clockwise until it clicks into place & stops. (1/4 turn or so)

9) Apply the dielectric grease to each female connection on the car's headlight harness plug.

10) Firmly press the plug onto the base of the bulb until the locking tab clicks into place.

There, you're done!

PS: If these are overwattage bulbs (= higher than 45/65w) consider buying upgraded headlight harnesses. "Search" for the reason why.

Nothing, as long as you never touched the glass.

If you touch the glass, your skin leaves oil on the surface, which can cause the area you touched to overheat and the bulb to rupture/burst. Basically, life-expectancy of the bulb will be shortened.

I'm not sure if it will help to wipe them down after* you've already had them turned on, but it couldn't hurt.

*Technically speaking: the heat of the bulbs bonds the oil to the glass & causes bad stuff to happen.

easy cept...

9) Apply the dielectric grease to each female connection on the car's headlight harness plug.

that is the only part that I have no idea about. Plus these are #9004's so all your steps still apply right?

Yep, instructions are for 9004's - I have a '95 SE.

Dielectric grease is easy - go to your auto parts place and ask a clerk where it is. It comes in a little tube about the size of a tube of Loctite thread-locker & costs under $3. It conducts electricity and will greatly reduce the liklihood of overheating & melting of the socket connection (if your bulbs are overwattage).

When you unplug the connection, you'll see what the instructions refer to. Just squeeze a small dollop of grease into each of the three female/concave connection points you see on the end of the plug before you plug it back together with the bulb base. It will be self-explanatory once you have it in front of your eyes.
