Ecu

I searched the forums for how to reset the ecu on a 2k but the threads where really old and i was wondering if there was any new info on, HOW DO YOU RESET THE ECU ON A 2K MAXIMA?

unplug the negative and let it sit for 8 hours...or....

supposedly unplugging the negative and then fully depressing the brake several times will do it.

Can somebody please clarify the ECU reset thing? I keep hearing different stories:

1) Is it necessary to reset the ECU when installing an aftermarket intake? Some say yes, and some say no.

2) Is it 8 hours or 24 hours of unplugging it that is required to reset it?

No, it isn't necessary. The ECU will just adjust to any mods quicker if it is cleared. If you don't clear it, the ECU will slowly change to match the new mods.

I think most people say overnight will usually do it.
