solenoid pack part number

Anyone know the part number for the solenoid pack located by the driverside strut tower on a '90 SE auto? I believe it's one of the packs that controls tranny line poressure.

I think your talking about the 'dropping resistor'. Is your max shifting really hard? If not, then there is something else wrong.

The solenoid pack for the tranny is not visible (inside the tranny).

My problem was that the tranny was slipping in every gear. I lost overdrive also. I read somewhere in a search that there is a black canister next to the driver side strut tower that everyone was calling a solenoid pack. It was written that if you unplug this canister and your tranny problems went away than that was the problem. I unplugged it and my tranny shifts fine other than a little too hard so i guess that was my problem. Now I'm trying to find the part number for this piece so that i can replace it.

Dude you dont have a VE they were only made in 92-94se's

You have a VG, VERY DIFFERENT, different engine and tranny.

If you think it the dropping resistor, then its easy to replace.

The solenoid pack is located inside the transmission under the valve body. The connector you unplugged is for the dropping resistor that controls the current to the line pressure solenoid (part of the pack). The dropping resistor is probably OK and the pack in the tranny is what you need to look at. The black can that the plug is mounted on is a vacuum tank for the intake "power valve" and has nothing to do with the tranny.
